2017 Waterford Senior Football Championship
The 2017 Waterford Senior Football Championship was the 130th edition of the Waterford GAA's premier club Gaelic football tournament for senior graded clubs in County Waterford, Ireland. The tournament consists of 12 teams, with the winners representing Waterford in the Munster Senior Club Football Championship. The championship starts with a seeded group stage and then progresses to a knock out stage. The Nire/Fourmilewater were the defending champions after they defeated Abbeyside/Ballinacourty in the 2016 final. This was Portlaw's return to the senior grade. Fraher Field
Fraher Field ( ga, Páirc Uí Fhearachair) is a GAA stadium, located in Dungarvan, County Waterford, owned by the Waterford GAA County Board. It has a total capacity of around 15,000. History Dan Fraher (1852–1929), an Irish language activist and scholar and promoter of Gaelic games, leased the land in 1885 and bought it outright in 1912. The stadium was renamed in his honour in 1995. With the obvious exception of Croke Park, Fraher Field has been the venue for more all-Ireland senior hurling finals than any other venue, having hosted the 1903, 1905, 1907 and 1911 deciders. Various improvements have been made to the stadium since 1995, including the addition of a new stand on one side of the pitch, and the improvement of standing facilities in general. Brickey Rangers GAA
Brickey Rangers ( ga, Rodaithe na Bricehttp://www.brickeyrangers.com ) is a GAA club 5 km west of Dungarvan, County Waterford, Republic of Ireland. They cater for Gaelic football, camogie and Hurling. Their home ground is Bushy Park, which was opened in 1984. The club have won the Waterford Senior Football Championship 1 time, in 1963. They have finished runner up on five occasions, the last being in 1960. 2016 football season 2016 Championship Football History Founded in 1896 as Brickey Rangers, the club did not have their first game until 1917. To determine the cost of a football, it was decided to go door-to-door throughout the Valley. Rinn Ó gCuanach CLG is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the Irish speaking (Gaeltacht) area of Ring, County Waterford, Ireland. The club fields teams of both GAA codes, including two adult Gaelic football teams and two adult hurling teams in the Waterford County Championships. Stradbally GAA ( Irish: ) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Stradbally, County Waterford, Ireland, with teams in both Gaelic Football and Hurling. Players include Waterford county hurling captain, Michael Walsh. Gaultier GAA Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located on the outskirts of Dunmore East (An Dún Mór Thoir in Irish) which is a popular tourist and fishing village in County Waterford, Ireland.
