2017 Washington Huskies Football Team
The 2017 Washington Huskies football team represented the University of Washington during the 2017 NCAA Division I FBS football season. Chris Petersen led the team in his fourth season as head coach. Washington competed as a member of the North Division of the Pac-12 Conference and played their home games on campus at Husky Stadium in Seattle. They finished the season 10–3, 7–2 in Pac-12 play to win a share of the North Division title with Stanford. Due to their head-to-head loss to Stanford, they did not represent the North Division in the Pac-12 Championship Game. They were invited to the Fiesta Bowl where they lost to Penn State. Chris Petersen
Christopher Scott Petersen (born October 13, 1964) is a former American football coach who was most recently the head coach at the University of Washington. Previously the head coach for eight seasons at Boise State University, Petersen guided the Broncos to two BCS bowl wins: the (2006 Season) 2007 and (2009 Season) 2010 Fiesta Bowls. He is the first two-time winner of the Paul "Bear" Bryant Award, which he won in 2006 and 2009. Petersen also won the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Award in 2010. At Washington, Petersen led the Huskies to the College Football Playoff in 2016, but fell to Alabama in the Peach Bowl. Petersen announced his resignation on December 2, 2019, to be effective after the team's bowl game. The 2017 NCAA Division I FBS football season was the highest level of college football competition in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in 2017. The regular season began on August 26, 2017, and ended on December 9, 2017. The postseason concluded on January 8, 2018 with the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship in Atlanta. Hawaii Warriors Football
The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors football team represents the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in NCAA Division I FBS college football. It was part of the Western Athletic Conference until July 2012, when the team joined the Mountain West Conference. From 2000 until July 1, 2013, the football team was renamed to simply ''Warriors'', until a 2013 decision to standardize all of the school's athletic team names took effect, and the team was once again known as the ''Rainbow Warriors''. Keith Bhonapha
Keith Abu Bhonapha (born May 12, 1980) is an American football coach who is currently the assistant head coach and running backs coach at Oregon State University. He played college football at Hawaii, where also began his coaching career. He has also spent time as an assistant at University of Washington Playing career Bhonapha played college football at Hawaii from 1999 to 2002, where he was a defensive back who was credited with the ability to play both safety and cornerback. Bob Gregory (born April 25, 1963) is an American college football coach and former player who is currently the special teams coordinator and safeties coach at Stanford, and previously served as the interim head coach, defensive coordinator, and inside linebackers coach at the University of Washington. He served as the interim head football coach at Boise State University for one game during the 2013 season, the Hawaii Bowl.
