2017 USC Trojans Football Team
The 2017 USC Trojans football team represented the University of Southern California in the 2017 NCAA Division I FBS football season. They played their home games at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum as members of the South Division of the Pac-12 Conference. They were led by second-year head coach Clay Helton. They finished the season 11–3, 8–1 in Pac-12 play to be champions of the South Division. Clay Helton
Clay Charles Helton (born June 24, 1972) is an American college football coach and former player, who is currently the head coach at Georgia Southern. He was previously the head coach of USC from 2015 to 2021. Helton has also been an assistant coach for Duke, Houston and Memphis. His father, Kim Helton, was a coach in college, the National Football League, and the Canadian Football League. Early life Helton was born on June 24, 1972, in Gainesville, Florida, where his father Kim Helton, was a graduate assistant for the Florida Gators football team. John Baxter (American Football)
John Baxter (born June 28, 1963) is an American football coach. He is currently the special teams coordinator at Fresno State University. He previously served as special teams coordinator at the University of Southern California. He is also the founder of the education company Academic Gameplan, and author of the 2013 book ''I Hate School: How a College Football Coach Has Inspired Students to Value Education and Become Lifelong Learners'' (). Deland McCullough (born Jon Briggs on December 1, 1972) is a former American and Canadian football running back in the National Football League (NFL) and Canadian Football League (CFL). Tyson Helton
Tyson Helton (born June 20, 1977) is an American football coach and former quarterback, who is the current head coach of the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. He played college football at Houston from 1996 to 1999. Claude Neil Callaway (born November 15, 1955) is an American college football coach and former player who is the offensive line coach for the Michigan Panthers of the United States Football League (USFL).
