2017 Tour Of Slovenia
The 2017 Tour of Slovenia ( sl, Dirka po Sloveniji) was the 24th edition of the Tour of Slovenia categorized as 2.1 stage race (UCI Europe Tour), held between 15 and 18 June. This year was a game changer for the race on the International stage, when Slovenian Tourist Board (STB) stepped in as the new lead partnership. They brought the race on a whole new level with broadcast on Eurosport, now available to 120 countries around the world. Another thing was a new jersey color in general classification. Green replaced yellow jersey, with 2012 exception (blue) as Slovenian tourism is promoting with this color, after the nature of the country is widely known for and with new powerful slogan "Fight for Green". The 2017 UCI Europe Tour was the thirteenth season of the UCI Europe Tour. The 2017 season began on 26 January 2017 with the Vuelta a Mallorca, Trofeo Santanyí-Ses Salines-Campos and ended on 17 October 2017 with the Nationale Sluitingsprijs. Belgium, Belgian rider Baptiste Planckaert (), who scored 1,605 points in the 2016 UCI Europe Tour, 2016 edition, was the defending champion of the UCI Europe Tour. Nacer Bouhanni () won the overall standings for the second time in three years; won the team classification, while France won both the overall nations' title and the under-23 equivalent. Roberto Ferrari (born 9 March 1983) is an Italian former professional cyclist, who competed professionally between 2007 and 2019 for the Tenax, , , , and teams. Career Ferrari was born in Gavardo. After stage 3 of the 2012 Giro d'Italia in Horsens, Denmark, Ferrari was relegated from 10th to 192nd position after the race jury ruled that he was responsible for a crash that brought down world champion Mark Cavendish and race leader Taylor Phinney since he swerved from the left to the right side of the road in the final meters. He stated after that mishap that "I don't care what is going on behind me". He gained extensive disapproval with this statement, from within the professional peloton and from the public. Novo Mesto (; sl, Novo mesto; also known by other alternative names) is a city on a bend of the Krka River in the City Municipality of Novo Mesto in southeastern Slovenia, close to the border with Croatia. Ljubljana
Ljubljana (also known by other historical names) is the capital and largest city of Slovenia. It is the country's cultural, educational, economic, political and administrative center.
