2017 Texas–Arlington Mavericks Baseball Team
The 2017 Texas–Arlington Mavericks baseball team represented the University of Texas at Arlington in the 2017 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Mavericks played their home games at Clay Gould Ballpark. Schedule and results Texas–Arlington Mavericks announced its 2017 baseball schedule on November 4, 2016. The 2017 schedule consisted of 26 home and 29 away games in the regular season. The Mavericks hosted Sun Belts foes Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, Little Rock, Louisiana, and Troy and will travel to Appalachian State, Arkansas State, Georgia State, Louisiana–Monroe, and Texas State. Darin Thomas
Darin R. Thomas is an American college baseball coach and former pitcher. He served as the head coach of the UT Arlington Mavericks baseball, Texas–Arlington Mavericks (2008–2022). Playing career Thomas attended Seward County Community College in Liberal, Kansas. Thomas then accepted a scholarship to play at Oklahoma Christian University, Oklahoma Christian College (OCC), to play college baseball for the OCC Eagles baseball team. While with the Eagles, Thomas was a 3 time First Team All-Sooner Athletic Conference selection. Coaching career Thomas immediately began his coaching career upon the completion of his college degree at Oklahoma Christian School. After two years at Oklahoma Christian School, he returned to Seward County as an assistant coach. Don Sanders Stadium, nicknamed "The Don", is located in Huntsville, TX and home to the Sam Houston State Bearkats baseball team. It opened on February 11, 2006. The Georgia State Baseball Complex is a baseball venue in Decatur, Georgia, United States. It is home to the Georgia State Panthers baseball team of the NCAA Division I Sun Belt Conference. The venue, which has a capacity of 1,092 spectators, opened in 1986. Choctaw Stadium, formerly Globe Life Park, is an American multi-purpose stadium in Arlington, Texas, between Dallas and Fort Worth.
