Strømsgodset Toppfotball
Strømsgodset Toppfotball is a Norwegian professional association football, football club based in Gulskogen, Drammen, that competes in the Eliteserien (football), Eliteserien. It is the elite football section of the multi-sports club Strømsgodset IF. The multi-sports club was founded 10 February 1907, but the football team first found success in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Led by the young striker Steinar Pettersen and his team-mates, the «Rødgata Boys» (nicknamed after the street most of them lived on), Strømsgodset got promoted from the fourth tier to the top flight in just a few years. The team then went on to win the Eliteserien, top division in 1970 and the Norwegian Football Cup, Norwegian Cup in 1969, 1970, 1973. In the following decades, the club struggled more. However, the relegation to the third tier in 1986 was a turning point for the football team, and the club was promoted to the top flight again in 1989. Jakob Glesnes (born 25 March 1994) is a Norwegian professional footballer who plays as a defender for Major League Soccer club Philadelphia Union. Club career Early career He hails from Steinsland in Sund and started his career in local Skogsvåg IL. In 2010, he started playing regular senior football as he transferred to Hald. After half a season he went on to Løv-Ham, which was soon merged to form FK Fyllingsdalen. He stayed with Fyllingsdalen until the summer of 2015, when he stepped up one tier to First Division club Åsane. Fredrikstad Fotballklubb (also known as Fredrikstad or FFK) is a Norwegian association football, football club from the town of Fredrikstad. With nine league championships and eleven Norwegian Football Cup, Norwegian Cup wins, FFK is one of the most successful clubs in Norwegian football. The club was founded in 1903. After suffering relegation from the then 1st division in 1984 1. divisjon, 1984, Fredrikstad spent 18 years outside the top flight, before returning to the top division in 2003 after two successive promotions. Fredrikstad stadion was FFK's home ground between 1914 and 2006. However, its facilities were outdated and the club moved to a Fredrikstad Stadion (new), new stadium on the other side of river Glomma. Pål Vestly Heigre (born 15 March 1995) is a Norwegian football goalkeeper. Career He started his career for Sandnes minnows Hana IL. In 2010, at the age of 15, he made his debut for the senior team. Ahead of the 2011 season he joined the youth system of Viking FK, albeit with a short loan period at Hana. He made his friendly match debut for Viking in the winter of 2012. In August 2014 he went on loan to IK Start. For them he made his Norwegian Premier League debut in November 2014 against Vålerenga. In the spring of 2015 he was loaned out to Tromsø IL. Tokmac Chol Nguen (born 20 October 1993) is a Norwegian professional footballer who plays as a winger for Hungarian club Ferencváros. Born in Kenya to South Sudanese refugees, Nguen represents the Norway national team. Club career In Norway Nguen made his debut for Strømsgodset on 28 August 2011 against Fredrikstad. Marius Høibråten (born 23 January 1995) is a Norwegian professional footballer who plays as a defender for J1 League club Urawa Red Diamonds. Club career Høibråten played for Fet IL in his early career, and joined Lillestrøm's youth section in 2009. On 1 May 2011 he made his senior debut in the 2011 Norwegian Football Cup. Lars-Christopher Horst Jan Vilsvik (born 18 October 1988) is a Norwegian footballer who plays as a defender for the Eliteserien side Strømsgodset. Stian Lunder Ringstad (born 29 August 1991) is a Norwegian football defender who currently plays for Ullensaker/Kisa. He has previously played for Lillestrøm and Eidsvold Turn. Francisco Santos da Silva Júnior (born 18 January 1992) is a Bissau-Guinean professional footballer who plays as a midfielder.
