2017 Peshawar Police Vehicle Attack
A suicide bomber struck AIG Ashraf Noor's car on 24 November 2017, as he was driving to work in Hayatabad, Peshawar, and the car caught fire, killing Ashraf Noor and his guard. In the attack eight others police in the AIG's squad were injured as a result of the blast and they were taken to Hayatabad Medical Complex for treatment. Bombing The suicide bomber struck his motorcycle into Ashraf Noor's vehicle after which he detonated his explosives which left the car in flames. Around 15-20 kilograms of explosives were used in the blast, and two vehicles were damaged in the attack. Aftermath Noor was buried with full police honors in his ancestral village, Skardu, on 24 November 2017. Hayatabad
Hayatabad is a suburb on the western outskirts of Peshawar, the capital of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. It borders the now defunct Tribal Areas and is close to Torkham, which is the major border crossing point between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The suburb is home to several of Peshawar's educational and health institutions. Hayatabad is named after Hayat Sherpao, a Pakistani Pashtun politician. Geography Hayatabad was developed as a residential area near Peshawar in the late 1970s. Primarily residential, it also contains an Industrial Estate. 2017 Peshawar Agriculture Directorate Attack
On 1 December 2017, 3–4 gunmen arrived at the hostel of Agricultural Training Institute at Agricultural University Peshawar and started firing as a result of which at least 13 people were killed and 35+ were injured. Tehreek-e-Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack. Background Most students had gone home due to the long weekend.
