2017 King's Cup
The 2017 Annual King's Cup Football Tournament, commonly referred to as 2017 King's Cup, was the 45th King's Cup, the annual international men's football tournament organised by Football Association of Thailand. It was held in Bangkok, Thailand, from 14 to 16 July 2017. The matches were played at Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok. As hosts, Thailand participated automatically in the tournament; they were joined by the African team Burkina Faso, the Asian team North Korea and the European team Belarus. The defending champions, Thailand, who won the previous fourteen King's Cup, defended their title. Burkina Faso and Belarus made their debuts. Burkina Faso were represented by their African Nations Championship team, composed of domestic league players. Belarus were represented by their B-team, composed of domestic league players. Belarus National Football Team
The Belarus national football team ( be, Зборная Беларусі па футболе, Zbornaja Biełarusi pa futbole; russian: Сборная Беларуси по футболу, Sbornaya Belarusi po futbolu) represents Belarus in international football and is controlled by the Football Federation of Belarus, the governing body for football in Belarus. Belarus' home ground is Dinamo Stadium in Minsk. Since independence in 1991, Belarus has not yet qualified for a FIFA World Cup or UEFA European Championship. History After the split of the Soviet Union, Belarus played their first match against Lithuania on 20 July 1992. Before that, a number of Belarusian players played for the Soviet Union national team. UEFA Euro 2016 Qualifying Group C
The UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying Group C was one of the nine groups to decide which teams would qualify for the UEFA Euro 2016 finals tournament. Group C consisted of six teams: Spain national football team, Spain, Ukraine national football team, Ukraine, Slovakia national football team, Slovakia, Belarus national football team, Belarus, Macedonia national football team, Macedonia, and Luxembourg national football team, Luxembourg, where they played against each other home-and-away in a round-robin tournament, round-robin format. 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualification – AFC Second Round
The second round of AFC matches for 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification (and 2019 AFC Asian Cup qualification) was played from 24 May 2015 to 29 March 2016. Format A total of forty teams (teams ranked 1–34 in the AFC entrant list and six first round winners) were divided into eight groups of five teams to play home-and-away round-robin matches. The eight group winners and the four best group runners-up advanced to the third round of FIFA World Cup qualification as well as qualify for the 2019 AFC Asian Cup finals. A total of 24 teams eliminated from World Cup qualification in the second round competed in the third round of 2019 AFC Asian Cup qualification (which was separated from the third round of 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification), where they were divided into six groups of four teams and competed for the remaining slots of the 2019 AFC Asian Cup. 2017 Africa Cup Of Nations
The 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (abbreviated as AFCON 2017 or CAN 2017), known as the Total 2017 Africa Cup of Nations for sponsorship reasons, was the 31st edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, the biennial international men's football championship of Africa organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The tournament was scheduled to be hosted by Libya, until CAF rescinded its hosting rights in August 2014 due to the Second Libyan civil war. The tournament was instead hosted by Gabon. This event was also part of the Africa Cup of Nations 60th Anniversary. Cameroon won their fifth title after defeating seven-time champions Egypt 2–1 in the final. The third round of AFC matches for 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification was played from 1 September 2016 to 5 September 2017. Format A total of twelve teams which advanced from the second round (the eight group winners and the four best group runners-up) were divided into two groups of six teams to play home-and-away round-robin matches. The top two teams of each group qualified for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, and the two third-placed teams advanced to the fourth round.
