2017 Kelly Cup Playoffs
The 2017 Kelly Cup Playoffs of the ECHL began on April 12, 2017, following the conclusion of the 2016–17 ECHL regular season. Playoff format At the end of the regular season the top four teams in each division qualify for the playoffs and are seeded one through four based on highest point total earned in the season. The first two rounds of the playoffs are held within the division with the first seed facing the fourth seed and the second seed facing the third. The division champions then play each other in a conference championship. The Kelly Cup finals pits the Eastern Conference champion against the Western Conference champion. All four rounds are a best-of-seven format. Playoff seeds After the regular season, 16 teams qualify for the playoffs. Colorado Eagles
The Colorado Eagles are a professional minor league ice hockey team based in Loveland, Colorado. The Eagles play in the Pacific Division of the American Hockey League. The Eagles were founded as an expansion franchise in 2003 in the Central Hockey League and remained in the league until June 2011, when they joined the ECHL. During their time in the CHL, the Eagles won two Ray Miron President's Cups, three regular season titles, five conference titles and six division titles in eight seasons. Kalamazoo Wings
The Kalamazoo Wings, nicknamed the K-Wings, are a mid-level professional ice hockey team in Kalamazoo, Michigan. A member of the ECHL's Western Conference, Central Division, they play in the 5,113-seat Wings Event Center. Ashton Rome
Ashton Rome (born December 31, 1985) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey winger, who most notably played with the Worcester Sharks in the American Hockey League (AHL). Playing career Rome played his junior hockey in the Western Hockey League with the Moose Jaw Warriors, Red Deer Rebels and Kamloops Blazers. He was selected twice in the National Hockey League Entry Draft, initially by the Boston Bruins in 2004, and then by the San Jose Sharks in 2006. The Cool Insuring Arena (originally called Glens Falls Civic Center) is a 4,794-seat multi-purpose arena located in downtown Glens Falls, New York, that currently serves as the home of the Adirondack Thunder of the ECHL. The SNHU Arena ( Southern New Hampshire University Arena) is an indoor events arena in Manchester, New Hampshire, and seats 9,852 for ice hockey, 11,140 for basketball and up to 11,770 for concerts. The facility was originally known during construction as Manchester Civic Arena, and this name still appears on most of the directional signs around town. Its naming rights were sold prior to opening in 2001 and was called Verizon Wireless Arena. On February 2, 2016, Southern New Hampshire University announced that it had purchased the naming rights from the then SMG (property management).
