The 2017 East Carolina Pirates football team represented East Carolina University in the 2017 NCAA Division I FBS football season. They were led by second-year head coach Scottie Montgomery and played their home games at Dowdy–Ficklen Stadium. Scottie Montgomery
Scottie Austin Montgomery (born May 26, 1978) is an American football coach for the Indianapolis Colts He most recently was the offensive coordinator at the University of Maryland. Prior to his tenure with Maryland, he was the head football coach at East Carolina University. He had previously served as an assistant at Duke University and for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League (NFL). Montgomery grew up in North Carolina and played wide receiver at Duke and in the NFL. The 2017 UCF Knights football team represented the University of Central Florida in the 2017 NCAA Division I FBS football season.
