2017 Chicago White Sox Season
The 2017 Chicago White Sox season was the franchise’s 118th season in Chicago and 117th in the American League. It was also the team’s first season under new manager Rick Renteria following Robin Ventura, who chose not to extend his contract with the team after five seasons. The White Sox missed the playoffs for the ninth consecutive season, and finished in 4th place in their division and second worst in the AL respectively. American League Central
The American League Central is one of Major League Baseball's six divisions. This division was formed in the realignment of 1994 by moving three teams from the American League West and two teams from the American League East. Its teams are all located in the Midwestern United States. Along with the National League East, the AL Central is one of two divisions in the Major Leagues in which all of its members have won a World Series title. Darrin Jay Jackson (born August 22, 1963) is the current radio color analyst for the Chicago White Sox and also a former center fielder in Major League Baseball who played 12 years for the Chicago Cubs (1985–1989), San Diego Padres (1989–1992), Toronto Blue Jays (1993), New York Mets (1993), Chicago White Sox (1994, 1999), Minnesota Twins (1997) and Milwaukee Brewers (1997–1998). John Stephen Holdzkom (born October 19, 1987) is an American former professional baseball relief pitcher. He made his Major League Baseball (MLB) debut with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2014. Zachary Slade Heathcott (born September 28, 1990) is an American former professional baseball outfielder. Heathcott was a first-round draft pick by the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball (MLB) out of Texas High School in the 2009 MLB Draft.
