2016–17 Washington Huskies Men's Basketball Team
The 2016–17 Washington Huskies men's basketball team represented the University of Washington in the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Members of the Pac-12 Conference, the Huskies were led by fifteenth-year head coach Lorenzo Romar and played their home games on campus at Alaska Airlines Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion in Seattle, Washington. The Huskies finished the season 9–22, 2–16 in Pac-12 play, in eleventh place. In the Pac-12 tournament, they lost in the first round to sixth-seeded USC. Lorenzo Romar
Lorenzo Romar (born November 13, 1958) is an American basketball coach and former player. He is the head men's basketball coach at Pepperdine University, a position he held from 1996 to 1999 and resumed in 2018. Romar also served as the head men's basketball coach at Saint Louis University from 1999 to 2002 and the University of Washington from 2002 to 2017. Playing career Romar played college basketball at Cerritos College from 1976–78 and then for Washington from 1978 to 1980. After college, he was drafted by the Golden State Warriors and spent five years playing in the National Basketball Association (NBA). 2016 Pac-12 Conference Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2016 Pac-12 Conference men's basketball tournament was the postseason men's basketball tournament for the Pac-12. It was played between March 9th through March 12th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Paradise, Nevada. The champion, the Oregon Ducks, received an automatic bid to the 2016 NCAA tournament. Lacey is a city in Thurston County, Washington, United States. It is a suburb of Olympia with a population of 53,526 at the 2020 census. Lacey is located along Interstate 5 between Olympia and the Nisqually River, which marks the border with Pierce County and Joint Base Lewis–McChord. History Lacey was originally called Woodland after settlers Isaac and Catherine Wood, who claimed land there in 1853. Andrew Delano Andrews (born May 25, 1993) is an American professional basketball player for Panathinaikos of the Greek Basket League and the EuroLeague. He played college basketball for the University of Washington, where he led the Pac-12 Conference in scoring as a senior. Dejounte Dashaun Murray ( ; born September 19, 1996) is an American professional basketball player for the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played one season of college basketball for the Washington Huskies, where he earned second-team all-conference honors in the Pac-12 as a freshman in 2015–16. He was selected by the San Antonio Spurs in the first round of the 2016 NBA draft with the 29th overall pick. In 2022, Murray was named to his first NBA All-Star Game and led the league in steals. Marquese De'Shawn Chriss (born July 2, 1997) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Dallas Mavericks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The 2015–16 San Diego State men's basketball team represented San Diego State University during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. This was head coach Steve Fisher's seventeenth season at San Diego State. The Aztecs played their home games at Viejas Arena. They were members in the Mountain West Conference.
