2016–17 SD Eibar Season
The 2016–17 season was Eibar's third consecutive season in La Liga after finishing in 14th place the previous season to ensure another year in the Spanish top flight. Season On 5 May, Eibar announced their first ever international tour with visits to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Las Vegas, Nevada in the United States. The tour objectives as stated by the club were, "to improve the brand image, the internationalization of the club, bring the club to shareholders, fans and club members in this country and open up possibilities for sponsorship mediums in the United States." On 23 May, Eibar announced the election of Amaia Gorostiza as the new president and the first female to hold the post for the club. Sociedad Deportiva Eibar (in eu, Eibar Kirol Elkartea) is a professional Spanish football club based in Eibar, Gipuzkoa, in the autonomous Basque Country. Founded on 30 November 1940, the team currently plays in the Segunda División, the second tier of Spanish football, having been relegated from La Liga at the end of the 2020–21 season. The North American Soccer League (NASL) was a professional men's soccer league based in the United States. The league was named for, but had no connection to, the original North American Soccer League. The later NASL was founded in 2009, and began play in 2011 with eight teams. Sam Boyd Stadium
Sam Boyd Stadium (formerly the Las Vegas Silver Bowl) is a football stadium in the western United States, located in Whitney, Nevada, an unincorporated community in the Las Vegas Valley. It honors Sam Boyd (1910–1993), a major figure in the hotel and casino industry in Las Vegas.
