The 2016–17 Iowa State Cyclones men's basketball team represented Iowa State University during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Cyclones were coached by Steve Prohm, who was in his second season. They played their home games at Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa as members of the Big 12 Conference. Steve Prohm
Steven Marshall Prohm (born July 12, 1974) is an American basketball coach who is in his second tenure as the head coach for Murray State men's basketball. Previously, he was the head coach at Iowa State University, a position he had held from 2015 to 2021. Prohm served in the same capacity at Murray State University from 2011 to 2015. Early life A native of Vienna, Virginia, Prohm's family later moved to Dalton, Georgia, where Prohm attended high school at Northwest Whitfield High School in Tunnel Hill, Georgia and lettered in basketball for three years, graduating in 1992. He started college at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta where he played NCAA Division III basketball. Hallice Cooke
Hallice Cooke ( ; born January 5, 1995) is an American basketball player who last played college basketball for the Nevada Wolf Pack. Early life and high school career Cooke grew up in Union City, New Jersey and played at St. Anthony High School for legendary coach Bob Hurley. His team went 28–2 as a senior and was ranked the 45th best guard in the nation by Rivals.com. Jameel McKay
Jameel McKay (born September 14, 1992) is an American former professional basketball player. He played two seasons of college basketball for Iowa State Cyclones men's basketball, Iowa State, where as a junior in 2014–15, he was named Big 12 Conference, Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year when he averaged 2.4 blocked shots per game. Abdel Nader ( ar, عبد الرحمن نادر; born September 25, 1993) is an Egyptian-American professional basketball player who last played for the Phoenix Suns of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Georges Niang (born June 17, 1993), nicknamed "The Minivan", is a Senegalese-American professional basketball player for the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
