2016–17 Houston Baptist Huskies Men's Basketball Team
The 2016–17 Houston Baptist Huskies men's basketball team represented Houston Baptist University in the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The season was head coach Ron Cottrell's 26th season at HBU. The Huskies played their home games at Sharp Gymnasium as members of the Southland Conference. They finished the season 17–14, 12–6 in Southland play to finish in a three-way tie for second place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the Southland tournament to Sam Houston State. The Huskies received an invitation to the CollegeInsider.com Tournament where they lost in the first round to Campbell. Ron Cottrell
Ron Cottrell (born October 11, 1960) is an American basketball coach. He is the head men's basketball coach at Houston Christian University in Houston, Texas. After beginning his career as a student assistant on Nolan Richardson's staff at Arkansas, Cottrell took over as Athletic Director and head men's basketball coach at Houston Christian, then known as Houston Baptist. The 2015–16 UNC Greensboro Spartans men's basketball team represented the University of North Carolina at Greensboro during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Spartans, led by fifth year head coach Wes Miller, play their home games at the Greensboro Coliseum, with two home games at Fleming Gymnasium, and are members of the Southern Conference. Dix Hills is an affluent hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) on Long Island in the town of Huntington in Suffolk County, New York. The population was 26,892 at the 2010 census. In the past, Dix Hills and some of its neighbors have proposed incorporating as the Incorporated Village of Half Hollow Hills. These proposals were all mothballed. History Settlers traded goods with the Indigenous Secatogue tribe for the land that became Dix Hills in 1699. The Secatogues lived in the northern portion of the region during the later half of that century. The land was known as Dick's Hills. By lore, the name traces to a local native named Dick Pechegan, likely of the Secatogues.
