2016–17 George Mason Patriots Men's Basketball Team
The 2016–17 George Mason Patriots Men's basketball team represented George Mason University during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. This was the 51st season for the program. They were coached by second-year coach Dave Paulsen as members of the Atlantic 10 Conference. They play their home games at EagleBank Arena in Fairfax, Virginia. They finished the season 20–14, 9–9 in 2016–17 Atlantic 10 Conference men's basketball season, A-10 play to finish in a tie for seventh place. In the 2017 Atlantic 10 men's basketball tournament, A-10 tournament, they defeated 2016–17 Fordham Rams men's basketball team, Fordham in the second round before losing to 2016–17 VCU Rams men's basketball team, VCU in the quarterfinals. Dave Paulsen
Dave Paulsen (born September 14, 1964) is an American college basketball coach who is currently the head coach at College of the Holy Cross, Holy Cross. Previously, he was the head men's basketball coach at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. Before arriving at George Mason, he was previously the head coach at Bucknell University for seven seasons. Prior to Bucknell, he spent eight years as the head coach at his alma mater, Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, and also coached at St. Lawrence University in Canton (village), New York, Canton, New York, and Le Moyne College in Syracuse, New York. Coaching career At Williams College, Paulsen won the NCAA Division III title in 2003, and finished as national runner up in 2004 in sports, 2004. 2015–16 Saint Louis Billikens Men's Basketball Team
The 2015–16 Saint Louis Billikens men's basketball team represented Saint Louis University in the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Billikens were led by fourth year head coach Jim Crews. The team played their home games at Chaifetz Arena. They were a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference. They finished the season with an 11–22, 5–13 in A-10 play to finish in a tie for 12th place. They defeated George Mason in the first round of the A-10 tournament to advance to the second round where they lost to George Washington. On March 10, following their exit in the A-10 tournament, head coach Jim Crews was released from his coaching duties by the school. He finished at Saint Louis with a four year record of 77–56. Linden is a city in southeastern Union County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Shevon Thompson
Shevon Thompson (born June 10, 1993) is a Jamaican professional basketball player for Fos Provence Basket of the LNB Pro A. He played college basketball for Midland College, Harcum College, and George Mason. Early life Thompson grew up playing soccer in Jamaica. He never played basketball until his junior year of high school, when a woman noticed his height and asked if he knew how to play. Thompson replied no, so the woman offered to teach him later.
