2016–17 Ekstraklasa (men's Handball)
The 2016–17 Ekstraklasa (currently named Lotto Ekstraklasa due to sponsorship reasons) was the 83rd season of the Ekstraklasa, the top Polish professional league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 1927. The league is operated by the Ekstraklasa SA. The season started on 15 July 2016, running to 4 June 2017. After the 20th matchday the league was on winter break between 20 December 2016 and 9 February 2017. The regular season was played in a round-robin tournament. A total of 16 teams participated, 14 of which competed in the league during the 2015–16 season, while the remaining two were promoted from the I liga. The fixtures were announced on 1 June 2016. Each team played a total of 30 matches, half at home and half away. Ekstraklasa
Poland Ekstraklasa (), meaning "Extra Class" in Polish, named PKO Ekstraklasa since the 2019–20 season due to its sponsorship by PKO Bank Polski, is the top Polish professional league for men's association football teams. Contested by 18 clubs, operating a system of promotion and relegation with the I liga, seasons start in July, and end in May or June the following year. Teams play a total of 34 games each. Games are played on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. The winner of the Ekstraklasa qualifies for the Polish SuperCup. The league is now operated by the Ekstraklasa Spółka Akcyjna. Stadion Sportowy Bruk-Bet Termalica ( en, Bruk-Bet Termalica Sports Stadium) is a football stadium located in Nieciecza, Żabno, Poland. It is used for football matches and it is the home ground of Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza. The stadium was built in 2007. Due to Ekstraklasa rules the club had to expand its stadium to hold at least 4,666 people. Nieciecza
Nieciecza is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Żabno, within Tarnów County, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in southern Poland. It lies approximately north-west of Żabno, north-west of Tarnów, and east of the regional capital Kraków. It is situated on the right bank of the Dunajec River, a tributary of the Vistula. Stadion Miejski w Gdyni (''Municipal Stadium in Gdynia'') is a football stadium in Gdynia, Poland. It is the home ground of Arka, but has also hosted several international games, including those of the Polish youth national team. The 2015–16 I liga is the 8th season of the Polish I liga under its current title, and the 68th season of the second highest division in the Polish football league system since its establishment in 1949. The league is operated by the Polish Football Association (PZPN). The league is contested by 18 teams. The regular season was played in a round-robin tournament. The season began on 1 August 2015, and concluded on 6 June 2016. After the 19th matchday the league will be on winter break between 6 December 2015 and 3 March 2016. According to the competition rules, all clubs are required to field at least one youth player (born on 1995 or later and Polish or trained in Poland) in every game (except for the times when the only youth player on the roster is sent off or unable to continue playing). The 1927 Liga was the 7th edition of the Polish Football Championship (6th completed season ended with the selection of a winner) and the 1st season of the Liga (now Ekstraklasa), the top Polish professional league for association football clubs. The league was operated by the ''Polska Liga Piłki Nożnej'' (PLPN). The champions were Wisła Kraków, who won their 1st Polish title.
