2016–17 Aruban Division Di Honor
The 2016–17 Aruban Division di Honor was the 56th season of the Aruban Division di Honor, the top tier of football in Aruba. The regular season began on 7 October 2016, with Dakota taking a 3–0 win over RCA. The final game of the regular season was on 23 April 2017 with Britannia taking a 1–0 home victory over La Fama. The Division di Honor's second stage is the "Caya 4" tournament, where the top two teams qualify for the final and the 2018 CFU Club Championship. The competition began on 12 May and concluded on 9 June 2017. RCA, Britannia, Dakota and Nacional participated in the tournament with RCA and Nacional taking the top two spots after a forfeit by Nacional in their final match was later overturned. The final uses a modified two-out-of-three format and will begin on 27 June 2017 and conclude in July 2017. RCA entered the season as the defending champions. Aruban Division Di Honor
Aruban Division di Honor or Campeonato AVB Aruba Bank is the top level association football league in Aruba. It is overseen by the Arubaanse Voetbal Bond and was created in 1960. Up to and including 1985, the top clubs from Aruba also entered the Kopa Antiano for the championship of the Netherlands Antilles, RCA and Estrella were the only Aruban teams to win that championship in 1965 and 1970. The winner of the league starts the qualifications for the CONCACAF Champions Cup from the first round of the CFU Club Championship. The 10th-placed team is relegated to the Division Uno, while the 8th and the 9th-placed teams play a 4-team round-robin with the 2nd and the 3rd of the second level to decide the relegation from or the promotion to the Division di Honor. Savaneta is a town and region in southeastern Aruba. Until 1797, it was the island's capital city. It is home to the island's oldest surviving home, a 150-year-old ''cas di torto'', or mud hut. The Savaneta region has an estimated area of 27.76 square kilometers and 11,518 inhabitants according to the 2010 census. History Savaneta is the oldest village of Aruba. In the 16th century, it became the capital of the Spanish administration. After Aruba was conquered by the Netherlands, the governor lived in Commander's Bay, a natural harbour near Savaneta. In 1797, the government moved to Paardenbaai which would later become Oranjestad. By 1816, only one house had remained inhabited. In 1852, the Canashito plantation was established, and workers were exempt for taxation for eight years. Still only 13 men and 5 boys moved to Savaneta that year. Guillermo Prospero Trinidad Stadium (officially known as ''Compleho Deportivo Guillermo Prospero Trinidad'') is a multi-purpose stadium in Oranjestad, Aruba.
