2016 Women's World Team Squash Championships
The 2016 Women's World Team Squash Championships is the women's edition of the 2016 World Team Squash Championships, which serves as the world team championship for squash players. The event held in Issy-les-Moulineaux, France and takes place from November 27 to December 3, 2016. The tournament is organized by the World Squash Federation and the French Squash Federation. The Egypt team won its third World Team Championships, beating the England team in the final. Participating teams 17 teams competed in these world championships from all of the five confederations: Africa, America, Asia, Europe and Oceania. Issy-les-Moulineaux
Issy-les-Moulineaux () is a commune in the southwestern suburban area of Paris, France, lying on the left bank of the river Seine. Its citizens are called ''Isséens'' in French. It is one of Paris' entrances and is located from Notre-Dame Cathedral, which is considered Kilometre zero of France. Omneya Abdel Kawy
Omneya Abdel Kawy ( ar, أمنية عبد القوي; born 15 August 1985, in Cairo) is a former professional squash player from Egypt. Career Omneya crowned a successful junior career in 2003 in her home city of Cairo when she became the first Egyptian woman to win a world junior title having won the 2003 World Junior Championship; she had previously been the runner up to Nicol David in 1999 and 2001. Such was already competing on the WISPA Tour during her mid teens. She reached number seven in the world rankings early in 2005 and achieved match ball against world number one Rachael Grinham in the final of the Hurghada International in her home country, though she eventually lost the match. Nouran Ahmed Gohar ( ar, نوران أحمد جوهر; born 30 September 1997 in Egypt) is a professional squash player who represents Egypt. She reached a career-high world ranking of No. 1 in July 2020. Nour El Sherbini
Nour El Sherbini ( ar, نور الشربيني; born 1 November 1995) is an Egyptian professional squash player. She is a six time World champion and became the youngest woman to win the Women's World Championship (2015). In 2016, she retained her title and in 2019 won her third World Championship equalling the feat of Michelle Martin and rising to equal fourth in the all-time list of world championships won.
