UEC European Champion Jersey
The UEC European Champion jersey is the distinctive, identifiable jersey that the winner of a bicycle race receives at European Cycling Championships organized by the European Cycling Union (UEC), such as the European Road Championships and the European Track Championships. The jersey is predominantly blue with gold European stars. The jerseys are awarded in all cycling disciplines, including road cycling, track cycling, cyclo-cross, BMX, mountain biking and indoor cycling. The jerseys are provided by Santini SMS. Eimear Moran (born 21 February 1984) is an Irish competitive cyclist and rower who has represented Ireland at European and World events. Personal life Born in Tullamore, Moran began rowing competitively when she was 14. Her first international race was the junior European championships where she won silver in the quad event. She attended university at the University of Sunderland. Rowing In 2000, she won the junior doubles at the Irish national championships and represented The King's Hospital at the Henley Regatta where she also won. Competing for Ireland she won bronze and silver in the women's single scull at the Nations Cup in Copenhagen and the World Cup in rowing for U23s. In 2001, she again had victory in the single sculls at the Henley regatta. Rachel Sarah James (born 1988) is a Welsh racing cyclist specializing in track cycling. James, from Abergavenny, Wales, is the daughter of David James and Christine Harris, and has a younger sister, Becky, who is a world champion racing cyclist, and also has another two younger sisters; Ffion and Megan, and brother Gareth, who are all keen cyclists. Although Rachel is older than Becky, it was Becky who entered the sport first: she persuaded Rachel to take up cycling, with the hope of the pair representing Wales in the team sprint at the 2014 Commonwealth Games - however these hopes were dashed when the event was removed from the Glasgow games' schedule.
