2016 Romanian Local Elections
Local elections were held in Romania on 5 June 2016. Using a first past the post system, the following were contested: * All the commune, town, and city councils (Local Councils, ro, Consilii Locale), and the Sectors Local Councils of Bucharest ( ro, Consilii Locale de Sector); * The 41 County Councils ( ro, Consilii Județene), and the Bucharest Municipal General Council ( ro, Consiliul General Al Municipiului București). Elections to positions within a city or town are often known as "municipal elections". Their form and conduct vary widely across jurisdictions. United Romania Party
The United Romania Party ( ro, Partidul România Unită) was a Romanian nationalist political party. It was founded by former members of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), such as Bogdan Diaconu and Greater Romania Party (PRM), like Horațiu Șerb, Vasile Vlasin and Valerian Moraru. The founding members, signatories of the party registration, are: Bogdan Diaconu, Daniel Hogea, Augustin-Florin Hagiu, Horațiu Șerb, Dumitru Badragan, and Dragoș Stancu, based on the civil decision nr. 5 from 7 February 2017, definitive on 25 April 2015. The party claims to adhere to a "national-democratic" doctrine based on the ideas of Romanian historian and politician Nicolae Iorga and centered on principles of social justice, economic protectionism, Romanian nationalism and anticorruption. Muscel County
Muscel County is a former first-order administrative district of Romania. It was located in the southern central part of Greater Romania, in the northwestern part of the historic region of Muntenia. Its territory is now mostly part of Argeș County, while some communes (Malu cu Flori, Pucheni and Văleni-Dâmbovița) now belong to Dâmbovița County. The county seat was Câmpulung. The county was bordered on the west by Argeș County, to the north by the counties of Făgăraș and Brașov, and to the east by Dâmbovița County. ArgeÈ™ County () is a county ('' judeÈ›'') of Romania, in Muntenia, with the capital city at PiteÈ™ti. Hungarian Civic Party (Romania)
The Hungarian Civic Party ( hu, Magyar Polgári Párt, ro, Partidul Civic Maghiar) is a political party of the Hungarian minority in Romania. It was founded in 2001 as the Hungarian Civic Union and was formally registered as a party on March 14, 2008. It positions itself as an alternative to the Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR/RMDSZ), the largest party representing Romania's Hungarian minority. The Christian Democratic National Peasants' Party ( ro, Partidul Național Țărănesc Creștin Democrat, officially abbreviated PNȚCD) is a Christian democratic and agrarian political party in Romania.
