2016 New Zealand Grand Prix
The 2016 New Zealand Grand Prix event for open wheel racing cars was held at Manfeild Autocourse near Feilding on 14 February 2016. It was the sixty-first New Zealand Grand Prix and was open to Toyota Racing Series cars. The event was also the third race of the fifth round of the 2016 Toyota Racing Series, the final race of the series. Twenty Tatuus-Toyota cars started the race which was won by 16-year-old Briton Lando Norris who became the fourth teenager in as many years to claim the Grand Prix after Mitch Evans, Nick Cassidy and Lance Stroll. Norris took pole position and won the race from Russian Artem Markelov and Austrian Ferdinand Habsburg; Habsburg also achieved the fastest lap of the race. 2016 Toyota Racing Series
The 2016 Toyota Racing Series was the twelfth running of the Toyota Racing Series, the premier open-wheel motorsport category held in New Zealand. The series, which consisted of fifteen races at five meetings, began on 16 January at Ruapuna Park in Christchurch, and ended on 14 February with the 61st running of the New Zealand Grand Prix, at Manfeild Autocourse in Feilding. As the first European driver to win the Toyota Racing Series, M2 Competition's Lando Norris wrapped up the championship with a race to spare, amassing six wins, eight poles, five fastest laps, and three round wins on his way to the title. Norris won a race at every meeting, taking a pair of victories in Taupo, while only finishing off the podium four times. James Munro (born 20 January 1997 in Christchurch, New Zealand) is a New Zealand former racing driver. Munro won championships in junior formulae such as Formula Ford and Formula Pilota China. James is the son of Mark Munro, a former Toyota Racing Series racing driver. Racing career After his New Zealand kart career Munro started racing cars in 2013. Racing a Mygale Munro won the New Zealand Formula Ford Championship winning ten out of fifteen races. He graduated into the fastest racing series in New Zealand, the Toyota Racing Series. It was the sixty-second New Zealand Grand Prix and fielded Toyota Racing Series cars. The event was also the third race of the fifth round of the 2017 Toyota Racing Series, the final race of the series. The 2015 New Zealand Grand Prix event for open wheel racing cars was held at Manfeild Autocourse near Feilding on 15 February 2015. It was the sixtieth New Zealand Grand Prix and was open to Toyota Racing Series cars. The event was also the third race of the fifth round of the 2015 Toyota Racing Series, the final race of the series. Twenty Tatuus-Toyota cars started the race which was won by 16-year-old Canadian Lance Stroll who became the who became the third teenager in as many years to claim the Grand Prix after Mitch Evans and Nick Cassidy. Zhou Guanyu (, pronounced ; born 30 May 1999) is a Chinese racing driver who currently competes in Formula One for Alfa Romeo. He is the first Chinese driver to compete in Formula One. Brendon Leitch (born 28 November 1995), is a New Zealand motor racing driver. Career Leitch began car racing in the Formula Ford category in 2009, racing in the South Island Formula Ford Championship. The following year, he would contend the New Zealand Formula Ford Championship, with modest results.
