2016 New York Democratic Primary
The 2016 New York Democratic presidential primary was held on April 19 in the U.S. state of New York as one of the Democratic Party's primaries ahead of the 2016 presidential election. Hillary Clinton, who had previously represented New York in the United States Senate from 2001 to 2009, won a comfortable majority in both the popular vote and delegate count over Bernie Sanders, who was born in Brooklyn. The Republican Party also held their own New York primary on the same day. Apart from that, no other primaries were scheduled for that day by either party.
