2016 Montreal Impact Season
The 2016 Montreal Impact season was the club's 23rd season of existence, and their fifth in Major League Soccer, the top tier of the Canadian soccer pyramid. They advanced all the way to the conference final where they lost to Canadian rival Toronto FC. Outside of MLS regular season play, the club participated in the 2016 Canadian Championship. Justin Mapp
Justin Mapp (born October 18, 1984) is an American former soccer player who played as a midfielder. Mapp has been described as being versatile and known for possessing "speed and creative abilities from out wide, but also his ability to drift inside and generate offense." Career Professional Mapp graduated from the Bradenton Academy in 2001 and signed with MLS as a Project-40 player. He was drafted by D.C. United with the fourth overall pick in the 2002 MLS SuperDraft, but played only 28 minutes for DC in his first year as a pro. The Chicago Fire acquired Mapp for Dema Kovalenko before the 2003 season, and he has been an important player in the squad since, helping them to the 2003 US Open Cup. In two seasons with the Fire, Mapp scored six goals and added seven assists. After eight years with Chicago, Mapp was traded to Philadelphia Union on July 26, 2010 in exchange for allocation money. Kenneth Scott Cooper Jr. (born October 21, 1984) is an American former soccer player who played as a forward. He began his soccer career with Manchester United but failed to break through to the first team. He went on to play for clubs in Portugal, Germany, England, the United States, and Canada. Cameron Bernard Porter (born May 23, 1993) is a retired American soccer player. Career College Porter spent four years playing college soccer at Princeton University between 2011 and 2014. Amadou Tidiane Dia (born June 8, 1993) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a left-back for Louisville City in the USL Championship. FC Montreal was a Canadian professional soccer team based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada that played in the USL Championship, the third tier of the United States soccer league system.
