Club Throw
The club throw is an athletic throwing event where the objective is to throw a wooden club. The event is one of the four throwing events, along with discus, javelin and shot put of the Summer Paralympics. It is the Paralympic equivalent of the hammer throw. The club throw was introduced for both men and women at the first 1960 Summer Paralympic Games. It was dropped from the women's programme from the 1992 Paralympics in Barcelona but was reinstated for London 2012. Sport rules Like other throwing events, the competition is decided by who can throw the club the farthest, though when the event is contested by athletes of different disability classifications, such as the Paralympics, the result is decided by a points score using the Raza Points System which considers athletes' relative levels of disability. 2016 IPC Athletics European Championships
The 2016 IPC Athletics European Championships was a track and field competition for athletes with a disability open to International Paralympic Committee (IPC) affiliated countries within Europe, plus Israel. It was held in Grosseto, Italy and took part between 10 and 16 June. The competition was staged at Stadio Olimpico Carlo Zecchini. Approximately 700 athletes from 35 countries attended the games. This was the last edition of the event held under the IPC Athletics title. Russia topped the medal tables in both gold medals won (51) and total number of medals won (131). Venue The venue for the Championships was the Stadio Olimpico Carlo Zecchini athletics stadium which has held IPC Grand Prix athletic tournaments in the past. Grosseto () is a city and ''comune'' in the central Italian region of Tuscany, the capital of the Province of Grosseto. T32 (classification)
T32 is disability sport classification for track events in disability athletics. This is a wheelchair racing class. The classification is one of three classes of wheelchair racing for people with athetosis, ataxia or hypertonia. The number of events available to people in this class has decreased since the 1980s, with no T32 events at the 2016 Summer Paralympics. While undergoing classification, T32 competitors both undergo a bench test of muscle coordination and demonstrate their skills in athletics. The International Paralympic Committee (IPC; german: Internationales Paralympisches Komitee) is an international non-profit organisation and the global governing body for the Paralympic Movement. The IPC organizes the Paralympic Games and functions as the international federation for nine sports. Maciej Sochal is a Polish Paralympic athlete competing in club throw and shot put events. He represented Poland at the Summer Paralympics in 2004, 2012, 2016 and 2021. Vladislav Frolov (field Athlete)
Vladislav Frolov (born 6 January 1992) is a Paralympic athlete from Russia. He competes in seated throwing events in the F32 classification, specializing in the club throw and shot put. Athletic career Frolov began training as an athlete at Bryansk in 2008. He came to prominence in 2014 when he represented Russia at the 2014 IPC Athletics European Championships in Swansea. There he entered both the club throw and shot put. In the shot put he threw a distance of 9.02, more than a metre more than his nearest rival to secure his first international gold medal. He followed this with a second gold, when he beat Britain's Stephen Miller in the T32 club throw. The following year he travelled to Doha to take part in the 2015 IPC Athletics World Championships. In the shot put, as in Swansea, he dominated the field, winning comfortably with a distance of 9.02m. Stephen Miller (athlete)
Stephen James Miller MBE (born 27 May 1980) is a British athlete who competes in the fields of Paralympic club and discus throwing. He has won three gold, one silver, and one bronze medal in the F32/51 club throw at the Paralympics. In Paralympic F32/51 discus he won one bronze medal. Personal life Stephen Miller was born 26 May 1980, in Cramlington, Northumberland. He started participating in athletics at the age of 11. He joined an after-school club, where he met Paralympian Norman Burns. Burns would later become his coach. He married Rachel Toland in August 2013. He was able to walk down the aisle with her since he had hip replacement surgery the previous October, which he had delayed until after the 2012 London Paralympics. He worked part-time as a web developer at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead. Miller and his wife founded SMILE Through Sport in 2013. T51 is disability sport classification for athletics. The class includes people with a number of different types of disabilities including spinal cord injuries and cerebral palsy. Similar classifications are T52, T53, T54 and T55. It is for sportspeople with minimal upper body function who use a wheelchair, spinal cord injury class F1 and Les Autres class LAF1. People in this class compete in wheelchair racing events. Definition This classification is for disability athletics. Radim Běleš (born 6 March 1973 in Ostrava) is a Czech Paralympic athlete competing mainly in category F51 club throwing and discus events. Běleš competed in the 2000 Summer Paralympics in the club throwing event, without winning a medal, he did however win a silver medal in that event in the 2004 Summer Paralympics where he also won the F32/51 discus.
