2016 Hockenheimring GP3 Series Round
The 2016 Hockenheimring GP3 Series round was a GP2 Series motor race held on 30 and 31 July 2016 at the Hockenheimring in Germany. It was the fiventh round of the 2016 GP3 Series. The race weekend supported the 2016 German Grand Prix. Classification Qualifying Alexander Albon secured his second pole position of the season with a time of 1:28.431 - marginally faster than that of Charles Leclerc, Jake Dennis and Nyck de Vries. Race 1 Antonio Fuoco took his second win of the year. de Vries achieved second and Matt Parry in third. Race 2 Jake Hughes took his first win of the season, with Jack Aitken in second and Charles Leclerc in third. Hockenheimring
The Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg () is a motor racing circuit situated in the Rhine valley near the town of Hockenheim in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, located on the Bertha Benz Memorial Route. Amongst other motor racing events, it has hosted the German Grand Prix, most recently in 2019. The circuit has very little differences in elevation. The circuit has an FIA Grade 1 license. History 1932–1938 Originally called "Dreieckskurs" (triangle course), the Hockenheimring was built in 1932. The man behind it is Ernst Christ, a young timekeeper who felt that a racing track should be built in his hometown of Hockenheim. He submitted the plans to the mayor and they were approved on Christmas day, in 1931. 2016 German Grand Prix
The 2016 German Grand Prix (formally known as the Formula 1 Grosser Preis von Deutschland 2016) was a Formula One motor race that took place on 31 July 2016. After a one-year absence, the race returned to the Hockenheimring near Hockenheim in the German state of Baden-Württemberg, which last held the race in 2014. It was the twelfth round of the 2016 FIA Formula One World Championship, and marked the seventy-sixth running of the German Grand Prix, and the sixty-second time the race has been run as a round of the Formula One World Championship. Lewis Hamilton entered the round with a six-point lead in the World Drivers' Championship over teammate and defending race winner Nico Rosberg. Santino Michael Ferrucci (born May 31, 1998) is an American professional racing driver. He competes in the IndyCar Series, driving the No 14 Chevrolet for A.J. Foyt Racing. Giuliano Ryu Alesi (born 20 September 1999) is a French-Japanese racing driver. He is the son of Japanese former actress Kumiko Goto and former Formula One driver Jean Alesi. Campos Racing is a Spanish motor racing team, founded by former Formula One driver Adrián Campos. The team has been successful in Formula Three and the GP2 Series. History After retiring from racing, Campos formed his own team at the end of 1997, under the name Campos Motorsport.
