WFCU Centre
WFCU Centre is an arena and entertainment centre in Windsor, Ontario, Windsor, Ontario, Canada. WFCU Centre replaced the 84-year-old Windsor Arena as the primary home of the Windsor Spitfires. It opened on December 11, 2008, in the east end of the city. WFCU Centre is owned by the City of Windsor, operated by Comcast Spectacor, and named for Windsor Family Credit Union. History City council approved the project on October 4, 2006, and the groundbreaking ceremony took place on January 22, 2007. The WFCU Centre was built at a cost of approximately $71 million by the Windsor, Ontario-based construction company, PCR Contractors. He competed in the 200 m individual medley event at the 2012 Summer Olympics and was eliminated after the qualifying heats. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, he competed in the men's 200 m individual medley event. He finished 9th in the heats with a time of 1:59.33. Jérémy Desplanches (born 7 August 1994) is a Swiss breaststroke and medley swimmer. He competed at the 2015 World Aquatics Championships, at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and was finalist at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships. He won the men's 200m Individual Medley final at the Glasgow 2018 European Swimming Championships in Glasgow and got silver in men's 200m individual medley at the 18th FINA World Championships in Gwangju. Mitchell James Larkin (born 9 July 1993) is an Australian competitive swimmer who specialises in backstroke events. He currently represents the Cali Condors which is part of the International Swimming League. Evan McKee White (born April 26, 1996) is an American professional baseball first baseman in the Los Angeles Angels organization. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Seattle Mariners and won the Gold Glove Award in 2020. He played college baseball for the Kentucky Wildcats. He is a two-time Olympian (2008 and 2012), a 2010 Pac-10 champion in the 200 m individual medley, a double NCAA team titleholder (2011 and 2012), a 43-time Estonian swimming champion, and a 24-time national record holder in different age groups.
