WFCU Centre is an arena and entertainment centre in Windsor, Ontario, Windsor, Ontario, Canada. WFCU Centre replaced the 84-year-old Windsor Arena as the primary home of the Windsor Spitfires. It opened on December 11, 2008, in the east end of the city. WFCU Centre is owned by the City of Windsor, operated by Comcast Spectacor, and named for Windsor Family Credit Union. History City council approved the project on October 4, 2006, and the groundbreaking ceremony took place on January 22, 2007. The WFCU Centre was built at a cost of approximately $71 million by the Windsor, Ontario-based construction company, PCR Contractors. The land was purchased from London, Ontario developer Farhi Holdings Corporation. The construction of this sports-entertainment centre was decided upon as a part of the city government's overall effort to add excitement to the economy. Benjamin Hockin Brusquetti (born 27 September 1986) is an Olympic freestyle swimmer, who has swum international for both Great Britain and Paraguay (his father is British, his mother is Paraguayan). Hockin represented Great Britain at the 2008 Summer Olympics in the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay swimming events where his team finished eighth. He swam for Paraguay at the 2010 South American Games, where he won 3 silver medals and a bronze medal. However, Hockin did not follow the proper steps to switch his sport nationality and has been banned for one year (retroactive to 23 May 2010). Michael Chadwick (born April 15, 1995) is an American swimmer who swims for Team Elite Aquatics in San Diego, CA and formerly for the University of Missouri. He is an NCAA All-American and U.S. National Team member. Career International Swimming Team In fall of 2019, Chadwick signed for the LA Current, in the ISL's inaugural season.
