2016 European Women's Handball Championship Squads
The following is a list of squads for each nation competing at the 2016 European Women's Handball Championship. On 25 October 2016 every coach had to submit a list of a maximum of 28 players, whom which 16 will be selected for the final tournament. Up to three replacements were granted during the tournament. The final squads were released on 3 and 4 December 2016. ''Age, caps and goals are correct of the start of the tournament, 4 December 2016.'' 2016 European Women's Handball Championship
The 2016 European Women's Handball Championship was held in Sweden from 4 to 18 December 2016. It was the second time that Sweden hosts the tournament, after it also hosted the 2006 European Women's Handball Championship. Sweden was awarded the championship on the European Handball Federation, EHF Congress in Monaco on 23 June 2012. Norway won their seventh title after a 30–29 victory over the Netherlands. France captured the bronze medal, after a 25–22 victory over Denmark. Venues Qualification Qualified teams Note: Bold indicates champion for that year. ''Italic'' indicates host for that year. HC Kuban Krasnodar
HC Kuban Krasnodar is a Russian women's handball team from Krasnodar competing in the Russian Super League. Kuban enjoyed its golden era in the late 1980s, winning two Cup Winners' Cups in 1987 and 1988 by beating TSC Berlin and Vasas Budapest in the final, and reaching the 1990 European Cup's final, lost to Hypo Niederösterreich, after winning the 1989 Soviet Championship. Kuban also played a third unsuccessful Cup Winners' Cup final in 1989. Following the collapse of the Soviet Union Kuban won the transitional CIS Championship, but it hasn't been able to win the new Russian Super League to date.
