2016 European Men's Handball Championship Qualification
This article describes the qualification for the 2016 European Men's Handball Championship. Qualification system 38 teams have registered for participation. 38 teams competed for 15 places at the final tournament in 2 distinct Qualification Phases. In each phase, the teams were divided into several pots according to their positions in the EHF National Team Ranking. Qualification Phase 1 The draw for the qualification round was held on the 23 June 2012 at the EHF Congress, in Monte Carlo, Monaco. The games were played in a home and away series, with every team playing each other twice. The group winners advanced to the second phase. 2016 European Men's Handball Championship
The 2016 EHF European Men's Handball Championship was the twelfth edition and was held for the first time in Poland from 15–31 January 2016. Croatia and Norway were the other applicants in the bidding process. Poland was awarded the championship on the EHF Congress in Monaco on 23 June 2012 with 58% votes. Germany won their second title by beating Spain 24–17 in the final. Croatia captured the bronze medal after defeating Norway 31–24. Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility
The Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility is a public leisure centre that is located in the Ravenscraig area of Motherwell, North Lanarkshire, Scotland. History The sports facility first came to attention when plans were being drawn up to form a new town on the site of the former Ravenscraig steelworks, which closed in 1992. The sports facility project was given the go-ahead in November 2008. Work on the new facility got underway in mid-2009. However, the project was at the centre of serious funding issues between different companies and councils, and thus delayed the beginning of construction by one year. The building has been fully completed and was opened to the public on 4 October 2010. Before opening, there was a 24-hour charity football event on 30 September 2010. On 16 February 2011, Provost Tom Curley officially opened the facility, and it was estimated that over 100,000 people had used the facility for the first five months in operation. Steven Larsson
Steven James Larsson (born 1 May 1981) is a British handball player. He was born in Scarborough in North Yorkshire but moved to Linköping in Sweden as a youngster. He was eligible to compete for Sweden, Norway and Great Britain on a national level and opted for the country of his father. He played club handball in Norway and Switzerland. Michele Skatar (born December 30, 1985) is a Croatian naturalized Italian handball player, currently free agent, runner-up in the EHF Cup (2013). Loutraki ( el, Λουτράκι) is a seaside resort on the Gulf of Corinth, in Corinthia, Greece. It is located west of Athens and northeast of Corinth.
