2016 European Curling Championships – Women's Tournament
The women's tournament of the 2016 European Curling Championships was held from November 18 to 26 in Renfrewshire, Scotland. The winners of the Group C tournament in Ljubljana, Slovenia moved on to the Group B tournament. The top eight women's teams at the 2016 European Curling Championships will represent their respective nations at the 2017 World Women's Curling Championship in Beijing. The tournament saw the debut of the Italian team. The Czech team for the first time got into the semifinals. Furthermore, the Russian team headed by skip Victoria Moiseeva debuted on these championships, following their win over Sidorova's defending champion team in the Russian Supercup. Denise Dupont
Denise Kanstrup Dupont (born 24 May 1984) is a Danish curler. She throws third rocks for the Danish national team, skipped by Angelina Jensen. After several years of limited success in the Junior ranks, Dupont joined Dorthe Holm's team and was a member of the silver medal-winning European Curling Championships team in 2002. Madeleine Kanstrup Dupont (born 26 May 1987 in Glostrup, Denmark) is a Danish curler from Copenhagen. She won the Frances Brodie Award in 2004. She currently skips her own team with teammates Mathilde Halse, Denise Dupont (Madeleine's sister), and My Larsen. Lene Nielsen (born 31 August 1986 in Hvidovre) is a Danish curling, curler. She was the skip of the 2014 Danish Olympic Curling Team. Career Nielsen played in her first international events in 2004, as an alternate for the Madeleine Dupont rink. Even though she was an alternate, she played many games. At the 2004 World Junior Curling Championships, the team finished 6th and at the 2004 Ford World Women's Curling Championship they finished in 8th. They finished in 8th place at the 2004 European Curling Championships. Later that season, Nielsen was promoted to third on the team and they won a silver medal at the 2005 European Youth Olympic Winter Festival. Anna Kubešková (born 30 October 1989) is a Czech curler from Prague. She currently skips the Czech Republic National team. Career Kubešková represented the Czech Republic at four World Junior Curling Championships (2007, 2009, 2010 and 2011) and at the 2011 Winter Universiade.
