110 Metres Hurdles
The 110 metres hurdles, or 110-metre hurdles, is a hurdling track and field event for men. It is included in the athletics programme at the Summer Olympic Games. The female counterpart is the 100 metres hurdles. As part of a racing event, ten hurdles of in height are evenly spaced along a straight course of 110 metres. They are positioned so that they will fall over if bumped into by the runner. Fallen hurdles do not carry a fixed time penalty for the runners, but they have a significant pull-over weight which slows down the run. Like the 100 metres sprint, the 110 metres hurdles begins in the starting blocks. For the 110 m hurdles, the first hurdle is placed after a run-up of 13.72 metres (45 ft) from the starting line. The next nine hurdles are set at a distance of 9.14 metres (30 ft) from each other, and the home stretch from the last hurdle to the finish line is 14.02 metres (46 ft) long. Orlando Ortega
Orlando Ortega Alejo (born 29 July 1991) is a Cuban-born Spanish track and field athlete who competes in the 110 metres hurdles. His personal best for the event is 12.94 seconds and he was the silver medallist at the 2016 Olympics. Career Ortega gradually rose through Cuba's ranks from 2007 onwards, taking youth and junior national titles in the hurdles. Ortega's grandmother and his first coach was Cristina Hechavarria, a 4 × 100 meter relay gold medalist at the Athletics at the 1967 Pan American Games. She died when Ortega was young, and in memory of her kept all his medals at her house. He was chosen to compete at the 2010 World Junior Championships in Athletics, but did not finish his heat. In his first year of senior competition in 2011, he established himself nationally with a win at the Barrientos Memorial meeting, winning with a personal best of 13.56 seconds. He improved further at a meeting in Havana running a time of 13.29 seconds.

David King (born 13 June 1994) is an English Olympic athlete specialising in the high hurdles. He is a three times British champion over 110m hurdles and three times British champion over 60m hurdles. He represented Team GB at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics (held in 2021) and made the semi-finals, finishing 19th overall. At the 2023 British Indoor Athletics Championships he took the title of 2023 UK national champion over 60m indoor hurdles. He then reached the finals of the 2023 European Athletics Indoor Championships in Istanbul where he finished 7th. He is currently based in Phoenix, Arizona, and trains with Phoenix Track Club under Coach Tim O'Neil. Milan Trajković ( sr, Милан Трајковић, el, Μίλαν Τράικοβιτς, born 17 March 1992 in Surdulica) is a Serbian-born Cypriot athlete specialising in the sprint hurdles.
