2016 Cyprus Women's Cup
The 2016 Cyprus Women's Cup was the ninth edition of the Cyprus Women's Cup, an invitational women's football tournament held annually in Cyprus. After being initially canceled due to schedule conflicts with both UEFA and AFC qualification for the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 2016 SheBelieves Cup leaving many of the prior year's participants, including reigning champions England, unable to attend, the tournament was rescheduled with the Football Association of Finland as tournament organizers and a scaled-down field of eight national teams. Austria defeated Poland in a final between two first-time participants in the Cyprus Cup. Format The tournament consisted of a group stage held over three match days followed by a single day of classification matches to determine the final standings. Nina Burger (born 27 December 1987) is an Austrian former Women's association football, football Striker (association football), striker, who played for SC Sand of Bundesliga (women), Frauen Bundesliga, after playing for SV Neulengbach of Austria's ÖFB-Frauenliga. Paralimni
Paralimni ( el, Παραλίμνι) is a town within the Famagusta District of Cyprus, situated on the island's east coast. Since the Turkish invasion in 1974, it has increased in size and status, primarily due to the migration of refugees fleeing from the north. Brian John McClair (born 8 December 1963) is a Scottish football coach and former professional footballer. As a player, he was a forward from 1980 to 1998, notable for his near 11-year spell at Manchester United where he won 14 trophies including four Premier League titles, as well as important tenures at Scottish clubs Celtic and Motherwell. The 2016 UEFA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament was an international football competition organised by UEFA to determine the final women's national team from Europe to qualify for the 2016 Summer Olympics women's football tournament in Brazil.
