2016 CECAFA Women's Championship
The 2016 CECAFA Women's Championship was the second edition of the association football tournament for women's national teams in the East African region. The first edition was hosted in 1986 and won by Zanzibar. It was held in Jinja, Uganda, Jinja, Uganda between 11 and 20 September 2016. There were no sponsors besides the Uganda Football Association. Participants The seven participants were announced on 29 August 2016. Sudan and South Sudan were initially reported as having confirmed participation, but did not appear in the draw. Equally not in the draw were Namibia, Zimbabwe and Malawi, who had requested guest spots. Draw The draw was announced on 29 August 2016. Esse Mbeyu Akida (born 18 November 1992) is a professional Kenyan Association football, footballer, who currently plays for P.A.O.K. F.C. (women), PAOK in Greece, and is a member "Harambee Starlets", the Kenya women's national football team, Kenya National Football Team. Christine Nafula
Christine Nafula (born 10 November 1991) is a Kenyan football midfielder, who last played for Kayseri Kadın FK in the Turkish Women's Super League. She has been a member of the Kenya women's national team. Family life Nafula comes from a footballing family. She is a younger daughter of a family of six. Her brother Eric Johanna Omondi plays for Jönköpings Södra and previously played for Mathare United, while Felix Oucho also played for Mathare United and is currently a coach at a club in Busia.
