2016 BYU Cougars Women's Soccer Team
The 2016 BYU Cougars women's soccer team represented BYU during the 2016 NCAA Division I women's soccer season. The Cougars were coached for a 22nd consecutive season by Jennifer Rockwood, who was co-coach in 1995 and became the solo head coach in 1996. Before 1995 BYU women's soccer competed as a club team and not as a member of the NCAA. The Cougars entered the 2016 season having won four consecutive West Coast Conference championships and having made the NCAA Tournament each of the last four seasons and in 17 of the 21 seasons that Rockwood has been the head coach. The Cougars came off of a season were they advanced to the second round of the College Cup before being defeated by Stanford to finish the season 16–3–2. The Cougars split the WCC regular season title with Pepperdine and advanced to the third round of the NCAA College Cup before falling to South Carolina 1–0. Jennifer Rockwood
Jennifer Rockwood (born September 20, 1966) is an American soccer coach, and the head coach for the BYU Cougars women's soccer team, a position she has held since 1989. She is the only coach the school recognizes since the club joined NCAA competition in 1995. Early life Rockwood was born to Jerry and Kae Rockwood as the oldest of five children, with her brothers being named Jon, Jason, Jared, and Jeffrey. Throughout junior high and high school Rockwood acted as a four-sport athlete, in soccer, basketball, softball, and track. Rockwood was offered a basketball scholarship at Ricks College, which she accepted in the fall of 1984, but her one true desire was soccer. After participating in basketball in the Fall-winter of 1984–85, Rockwood transferred and enrolled at Brigham Young University. UCLA Bruins Women's Soccer
The UCLA Bruins women's soccer team is an intercollegiate Varsity team, varsity sports team of the University of California, Los Angeles, University of California at Los Angeles. The team is a member of the Pac-12 Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. The team won its first national championship on December 8, 2013, by defeating Florida State 1–0 in overtime. The Bruins won the program's second national title on December 5, 2022, beating North Carolina 3–2 in double overtime. Haley Jean McCutcheon (; born February 22, 1996) is an American soccer player who plays as a defender for Orlando Pride in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). She has previously played for Houston Dash of the NWSL and for Melbourne Victory in the Australian W-League. She made her senior international debut for the United States in 2018. The Nebraska Cornhuskers women's soccer team represents the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in the Big Ten Conference of NCAA Division I. The program has been coached by John Walker since being established in 1994. Walker was the NSCAA National Coach of the Year in 1996 and has been named conference coach of the year three times. The Washington State Cougars (known informally as the Cougs) are the athletic teams that represent Washington State University. Located in Pullman, Washington, WSU is a member of the Pac-12 Conference in NCAA Division I. The athletic program comprises ten women's sports and six men's intercollegiate sports, and also offers various intramural sports.
