2016 AFL Under 18 Championships
The 2016 NAB AFL Under 18 Championships was the 21st edition of the AFL Under 18 Championships. A new format saw nine teams compete in the championships with four teams competing in division two; Northern Territory, NSW/ACT, Queensland, and Tasmania, and five teams compete in division one; Australian Alliance, South Australia, Vic Metro, Vic Country, and Western Australia, with Australian Alliance comprising the best players in division two. Vic Metro won the division one title, with South Australian captain, Jack Graham, winning the Larke Medal as the division one best player. NSW/ACT were the champions of division two, with Queensland midfielder, Jack Bowes, winning the Hunter Harrison Medal as the best player in division two. Jack Graham (Australian Footballer, Born 1998)
Jack Graham (born 25 February 1998) is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Richmond Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Graham is a two-time premiership player, having featured in grand final wins for Richmond in both 2017 and 2020. As a junior he captained South Australia Australian rules football team, South Australia at the 2016 AFL Under 18 Championships and won the Larke Medal as the competition's best player. After being drafted by Richmond in the third round of the 2016 draft, he made his debut in round 22 of the 2017 season, before becoming a premiership player in just his fifth career AFL game. Docklands Stadium, also currently known by naming rights sponsorship as Marvel Stadium, is a multi-purpose sports and entertainment stadium in the Docklands area of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Construction started in October 1997 and was completed in 2000 at a cost of A$460 million. Josh Battle
Josh Battle (born 1 September 1998) is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the St Kilda Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was drafted by St Kilda with their second selection and thirty-ninth overall in the 2016 national draft. Daniel Venables
Daniel Venables (born 19 November 1998) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the West Coast Eagles in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was the youngest member of the Eagles 2018 premiership side. Junior career Venables originally represented Keilor Football Club and his school Penleigh and Essendon Grammar. Throughout his junior career, he mainly played as a midfielder or forward. In 2015, he played for Vic Metro in the 2015 under-16 national championships, breaking his leg against South Australia in the opening game after landing awkwardly in a marking contest. Hugh McCluggage (born 3 March 1998) is a professional Australian rules footballer and vice-captain of the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL). Will Brodie (born 23 August 1998) is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Fremantle Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL), having been initially drafted to the Gold Coast Suns. Early career He grew up in Shepparton before accepting a scholarship to attend Scotch College in Melbourne. Harry Perryman (born 19 December 1998) is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Greater Western Sydney Giants in the Australian Football League (AFL).
