The 2015–16 season was the 117th season of competitive league football in the history of English football club Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C., Wolverhampton Wanderers. The club are competing in the second tier of the English football league system, English football system, the Football League Championship for a second consecutive year having finished 7th in the previous season following their promotion from League One. The club ended the campaign in 14th position, one of their lowest finishes during the previous 25 years, having failed to compete for the play-offs. The season saw owner Steve Morgan resign as chairman and place the club up for sale but no sale has to date been concluded. Wolverhampton () is a city, metropolitan borough and administrative centre in the West Midlands, England. The population size has increased by 5.7%, from around 249,500 in 2011 to 263,700 in 2021. People from the city are called "Wulfrunians". Historically part of Staffordshire, the city grew initially as a market town specialising in the wool trade. Nouha Dicko (born 14 May 1992) is a professional footballer who plays as a forward for Super League Greece club OFI. Born in France, he represented Mali national team at international level. Donovan Junior Wilson (born 14 March 1997) is an English footballer who plays as a forward for club Grimsby Town. He joined Wolverhampton Wanderers from Bristol Rovers in January 2015 following a brief loan spell, and made his first-team debut for Wolves in February 2017. He spent the second half of the 2017–18 season on loan at Port Vale. He spent the first half of the 2018–19 season on loan at Spanish club Jumilla and joined Exeter City on loan for the second half of the season. He returned to Spain to sign with Burgos in July 2019, before joining English side Macclesfield Town in February 2020. The INF Clairefontaine (""), INF, or simply Clairefontaine, is the national football centre that specialises in training French football players. The INF Clairefontaine is a section of the CNF Clairefontaine. The academy is one of thirteen ''élite'' academies located in and around France that are supervised by the French Football Federation (FFF). Only the best players from the Île-de-France ''région'' train at the Clairefontaine academy. Bright Enobakhare (born 8 February 1998) is a Nigerian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Rukh Lviv in the Ukrainian Premier League.
