2015–16 Vanderbilt Commodores Women's Basketball Team
The 2015–16 Vanderbilt Commodores women's basketball team will represent Vanderbilt University in the 2015–16 college basketball season. The team's head coach is Melanie Balcomb, in her fourteenth season at Vanderbilt. The team plays their home games at Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville, Tennessee, as a member of the Southeastern Conference. They finished the season 18–14, 5–11 in SEC play to finish in eleventh place. They advanced to the quarterfinals of the SEC women's tournament where they lost to Mississippi State. On April 27, it was announced that Melanie Balcomb has resigned her position. She finished at Vanderbilt with a 14-year record of 310–149. Melanie Balcomb
Melanie Balcomb (born September 24, 1962) is an American basketball coach. She was previously the head coach for the Vanderbilt women's basketball team in 2016. Career Balcomb attended Hightstown High School, in Hightstown, New Jersey, where she starred as a point guard for the girls' varsity basketball team from 1976 to 1980. Green Hope High School is a secondary school located at 2500 Carpenter Upchurch Road in Cary, North Carolina. It is a part of the Wake County Public School System. History Green Hope School origins The school is named for the historic Green Hope School, built in 1927. This rural school included grades 1 through 12. The Texas Tech Red Raiders and Lady Raiders are the athletic teams that represent Texas Tech University, located in Lubbock, Texas.
