2015–16 Texas State Bobcats Men's Basketball Team
The 2015–16 Texas State Bobcats men's basketball team represented Texas State University in the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bobcats, led by third year head coach Danny Kaspar, played their home games at Strahan Coliseum and were members of the Sun Belt Conference. They finished the season 15–16, 8–12 in Sun Belt play to finish in a tie for seventh place. They defeated Georgia State in the first round of the Sun Belt tournament to advance to the quarterfinals where they lost to Texas–Arlington. Danny Kaspar
Daniel Joseph Kaspar (born November 16, 1954) is an American college basketball coach. Kaspar served as men's basketball head coach at the Incarnate Word Cardinals men's basketball, University of the Incarnate Word, Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks basketball, Stephen F. Austin State University, and Texas State Bobcats men's basketball, Texas State University. He has also been an assistant coach at Lamar University, Lamar, Midwestern State University, Midwestern State and Baylor University, Baylor. Early life Born in Corpus Christi, Texas, Kaspar graduated from Mary Carroll High School in Corpus Christi in 1973. Burton Coliseum
The Burton Coliseum, built in 1976, is located in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The arena contains a domed roof and stands 105 feet from the floor to the top of the roof. It and other buildings in the Burton Complex serve many purposes. The coliseum served as home to the McNeese State Cowboys and Cowgirls basketball teams from 1986 to 2018. The coliseum has a total seating capacity of 8,500 including 6,500-permanent seat multi-purpose arena and 2,000 in temporary seating. In 2014, Burton Coliseum started hosting the semifinals and finals of the Louisiana High School Athletic Association's boys basketball state tournaments. The 2015–16 McNeese State Cowboys basketball team represented McNeese State University during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Cowboys were led by tenth year head coach Dave Simmons and played their home games at Burton Coliseum. The Cowboys were members of the Southland Conference. They finished the season with a record of 8–21, 6–12 in Southland play to finish in eighth place. They lost to Nicholls State in the first round of the Southland tournament. Plano, Texas
Plano ( ) is a city in Collin County, Texas, Collin County and Denton County, Texas, United States. It had a population of 285,494 at the 2020 United States census, 2020 census.
