The 2015–16 Spanish stage of the UEFA Regions' Cup was the 11th staging of this tournament. The winners qualified for the 2017 UEFA Regions' Cup. Castile and León won their second title. Competition format The eighteen teams joined the preliminary round, played as mini-tournaments with three teams in each group, where only the first qualified team will advance to further stages. The winners of groups A, B, C and D joined the intermediate stage while the winners of the groups E and F directly qualified for the semifinals. The Spanish stage of the UEFA Region's Cup is a biennial Spanish football tournament for amateur teams which represent the Spanish Autonomous Communities. Its winner qualifies for the next UEFA Regions' Cup, played the following year. History The tournament was created in 1999, after the 1999 UEFA Regions' Cup where there was no qualifying tournament and Madrid represented Spain in the international contest (they eventually finished as runners-up). The 2017 UEFA Regions' Cup was the 10th edition of the UEFA Regions' Cup, a football competition for amateur teams in Europe organized by UEFA. Zagreb, which lost to Leinster/Munster (Eastern Region) in the previous edition's final, defeated Munster/Connacht (Region 2), also from the Republic of Ireland, in this edition's final to become the first team from Croatia to win the UEFA Regions' Cup. Teams A total of 38 teams entered the tournament. Each of the 54 UEFA member associations could enter a regional amateur representative team which qualified through a national qualifying competition, or when applicable, their national amateur representative team.
