2015–16 Northern Colorado Bears Men's Basketball Team
The 2015–16 Northern Colorado Bears men's basketball team represented the University of Northern Colorado during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bears were led by sixth-year head coach B. J. Hill and played their home games at Bank of Colorado Arena. They were a member of the Big Sky Conference. The Bears finished the season 10–21, 7–11 in Big Sky play to finish in ninth place. They lost to Portland State in the first round of the Big Sky tournament. On April 21, 2016, the school fired head coach B. J. Hill amid an NCAA investigation into "serious and concerning" allegations of violations within the program. Bank of Colorado Arena at Butler-Hancock Athletic Center is a 2,992-seat multi-purpose arena in Greeley, Colorado, United States. It was built in 1974 and is home to the University of Northern Colorado Bears men's and women's basketball teams, as well as the Bears volleyball, wrestling and indoor track and field programs. Located on Northern Colorado's west campus, the Bank of Colorado Arena serves as "The Home of the Bears." Originally named for longtime UNC coaches Pete Butler and John W. Hancock, Butler-Hancock Hall opened its doors February 4, 1975. The venue was renamed the Butler–Hancock Sports Pavilion during the 2004–05 season. The Southern Miss Golden Eagles basketball program represents intercollegiate men's basketball at the University of Southern Mississippi. The school competes in the Sun Belt Conference in Division I of the NCAA and plays their home games at Reed Green Coliseum, which has a capacity of 8,095.
