2015–16 Lamar Lady Cardinals Basketball Team
: ''For information on all Lamar University sports, see Lamar Cardinals and Lady Cardinals'' The 2015–16 Lamar Lady Cardinals basketball team represented Lamar University during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Lady Cardinals, led by third year head coach Robin Harmony, played their home games at the Montagne Center and are members of the Southland Conference. They finished the season with a 12-19 overall record and a 7-11 conference record. Qualifying for the conference tournament, the Lady Cardinals won the first game against Houston Baptist and were eliminated by McNeese State. Two Lady Cardinals were recognized by the Southland Conference at the conclusion of the regular season. Chastadie Barrs was named Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Year. Lamar Cardinals And Lady Cardinals
The Lamar Cardinals and Lady Cardinals (variously Cardinals or Cards) refers to the college athletics teams of Lamar University, in Beaumont, Texas. The Cardinals and Lady Cardinals teams compete in seventeen NCAA Division I sports as a member of the Southland Conference. The Cardinals rejoined the Southland after spending the 2021–22 athletic year in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). General history The school has participated in practically every level of collegiate athletics from its inception as a junior college in 1923 to its realization as a university in 1971. The newest teams are the reinstated football team, which returned in 2010 and Women's softball, which returned in the 2013 season. The adoption of the nickname "Cardinals" dates back to the school's name change to Lamar in 1932. Mizzou Arena
Mizzou Arena is an indoor arena located on the campus of the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. Home to the school's men's and women's basketball teams, the facility opened in November 2004 and replaced the Hearnes Center as the school's flagship indoor sports facility. The arena also serves as the Columbia-Jefferson City market's venue for well-known 'arena' acts such as Rascal Flatts, Luke Bryan and the Eagles. The arched-roof building seats 15,061, and is located just south of Hearnes and Memorial Stadium. The 2015–16 Missouri Tigers women's basketball team represents the University of Missouri in the 2015–16 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Tigers were led by sixth year head coach Robin Pingeton. They play their games at Mizzou Arena and are members of the Southeastern Conference. They finished the season 22–10, 8–8 in SEC play to finish in a 3 way tie for seventh place. They lost in the second round of the SEC women's tournament to Auburn. They received an at-large to the NCAA women's tournament, which was their first trip since 2006 where they defeated BYU in the first round before losing to Texas in the second round.
