Liga de Ascenso (Promotion League) is the second division of Honduran football; it was founded on 17 December 1979 as ''Segunda División'' (Second Division) and renamed ''Liga de Ascenso'' (Promotion League) on 21 July 2002. Deportes Savio Fútbol Club, commonly known as Deportes Savio, is a professional Association football in Honduras, Honduran football club based in Santa Rosa de Copán. The club was founded in 1974, and participates in the Liga Nacional de Fútbol Profesional de Honduras. Liga Betcris de Honduras (''Honduran National Professional Football League'') is the highest division of football in Honduras. The league season is divided into Opening (autumn) and Closing (spring). Atlético Olanchano was a Honduran football club based in Catacamas, Olancho. The club last played in the Honduran second division. History Campamento Atlético Olanchano was founded as ''Campamento'' in 1974 and originally played their games in Campamento, Olancho. The team later moved to Catacamas and so the name was remodified to ''Juventud Catacamas''. Comayagua () is a city, municipality and old capital of Honduras, located northwest of Tegucigalpa on the highway to San Pedro Sula and above sea level. The accelerated growth experienced by the city of Comayagua led the municipal authorities to structure a territorial reorganization plan. Between the years of 1945 -1975 the population of the city quadrupled due to the high rate of population growth achieved at that time (4.8%) and to migratory movements in the interior of the country. Atlético Independiente is a Honduran soccer club based on Siguatepeque, Honduras. The club currently plays in Liga de Ascenso de Honduras. History Club Atlético Independiente was founded on October 12, 1960, by Luis Méndez and Julio Zepeda. The club originally played in Liga de Fútbol “Amado Sánchez”, an independent league in Siguatepeque, until 1979, when the club was promoted to Segunda Division (now called Liga de Ascenso). Since 1979, Atlético Independiente has been one of the most known and respected clubs in Liga de Ascenso.
