2015–16 Coventry City F.C. Season
The 2015–16 season was Coventry City's 132nd season in their history and fourth consecutive season in League One. Along with competing in League One, the club also participated in the FA Cup, the League Cup and the Football League Trophy. The season covered the period from 1 July 2015 to 30 June 2016. Review and events July 8 players were released on 1 July 2015 with Al Bangura, Adam Barton, Frank Nouble, Shaun Miller, Simeon Jackson, Andy Webster, Danny Pugh and Blair Turgott all leaving the club. Five players from the academy signed professional contracts on 1 July 2015 as Cian Harries, Devon Kelly-Evans, Dion Kelly-Evans, Ben Stevenson and George Thomas all signing contracts alongside Chris Stokes, who signed a one-year contract on a free transfer from Forest Green Rovers. Football League One
The English Football League One (often referred to as League One for short or Sky Bet League One for sponsorship purposes, and known as the Football League One from 2004 until 2016) is the second-highest division of the English Football League and the third tier overall in the entire English football league system. League One debuted for the 2004–05 season. It was previously known briefly as the Football League Second Division and for much longer, before the advent of the Premier League, as the Football League Third Division. Devon Kelly-Evans
Devon Jerome Kelly-Evans (born 21 September 1996) is an English footballer who plays as a midfielder for Leamington. Career Kelly-Evans made his professional debut as a substitute on 23 August 2016 in a 6-1 Football League Cup defeat to Norwich City, coming on to replace Ben Stevenson after 67 minutes. Towards the end of the 2016–17 season, Devon Kelly-Evans was sent out on loan to Nuneaton Town, where he made 11 appearances and scored two goals. On 12 September 2017, Devon Kelly-Evans made his league debut for Coventry City, replacing Stuart Beavon in the 87th minute of a 2–0 win over Carlisle United. Cian Harries
Cian William Thomas Harries (born 1 April 1997) is a professional footballer who plays as a defender for League Two club Swindon Town. He is a Wales Under-21 international. Club career On 25 May 2015, Harries signed his first professional contract with Coventry City on a three-year deal to begin on 1 July 2015. During the 2016 January transfer window, Harries joined Cheltenham Town on an initial one-month loan deal. He made his début a day later coming on in the 81st minute to replace Billy Waters in the 0–0 draw against Boreham Wood. Blair Turgott
Blair Sebastian Turgott (born 22 May 1994) is a professional footballer who plays as a winger for BK Häcken. He has previously played for West Ham United and Coventry City and has had loan spells with Bradford City, Colchester United, Rotherham United and Dagenham & Redbridge. Danny Pugh
Daniel Adam Pugh (born 19 October 1982) is an English professional football coach and former player. A versatile player, he could play in midfield or at left-back. He began his career with Manchester United, and made a handful of first team appearances before being transferred to Leeds United in May 2004. He spent two seasons at Elland Road before joining Preston North End for a fee of £250,000 in June 2006. Another two-year spell followed until he joined Stoke City for £500,000 in January after a short loan period. He became a regular under Tony Pulis and helped the club to gain promotion out of the Championship in 2007–08. Andy Webster (footballer, Born 1982)
Andrew Neil Webster (born 23 April 1982) is a Scottish retired professional footballer who played as a centre-back. He began his career with Arbroath in the Scottish Second Division before moving to Heart of Midlothian for £75,000 in 2001. In two separate spells, he played a total of 222 Scottish Premier League games for Hearts, amassing 272 appearances across all competitions. His first spell ended in a transfer saga in which he invoked updated FIFA transfer regulations to leave for Wigan Athletic, in a move which became known as the Webster ruling. He played only four Premier League matches for Wigan and returned to Scotland, spending three seasons troubled by injury at Rangers. Simeon Jackson
Simeon Alexander Jackson (born March 28, 1987) is a Canadian professional soccer player who currently plays as a forward for Chelmsford City. He has spent the majority of his career playing in England, relocating from Mississauga, Ontario, to South London as a teenager to pursue his interest in football. Following a rejection by Gillingham after a trial, he played semi-professionally before making his name with Rushden & Diamonds of the Football Conference. Shaun Miller
Shaun Robert Miller (born 25 September 1987) is an English professional footballer who plays as a striker for Kidsgrove Athletic. Miller began his career at Crewe Alexandra before moving to Sheffield United in 2012 and Coventry City in 2014. He also spent time on loan at Witton Albion, Shrewsbury Town and York City. He was released by Coventry in 2015 before signing for Morecambe. Frank Nouble
Frank Herman Nouble (born 24 September 1991) is an English professional footballer who plays as a striker for League Two club Colchester United. Nouble started his career with the youth team at Chelsea before signing for West Ham United. While at West Ham, he was loaned out on seven occasions. Nouble made five appearances for Wolverhampton Wanderers before signing for Ipswich Town in 2013. After 18 months at Ipswich he was loaned to Coventry City and in January 2015 signed for the club on a free transfer. Adam James Barton (born 7 January 1991) is a professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder for Curzon Ashton. Born in England, he has played internationally for both Northern Ireland, in a senior friendly, and Republic of Ireland at under-21 level. Club career Preston North End Born in Clitheroe, Barton started in the youth ranks at Blackburn Rovers before being released at the age of sixteen due to a serious back injury. Al Bangura
Alhassan "Al" Bangura (born 24 January 1988) is a Sierra Leonean former footballer who played as a midfielder. Bangura played for the Sierra Leone national team and is notable for having been the victim of human trafficking when he was a teenager and also the subject of a deportation case in the United Kingdom in 2007. Early life Bangura was born and brought up in Freetown, Sierra Leone, and his father was the head of the Poro Secret Society, however he died when Alhassan was a young child.
