The 2015–16 season was Colchester United F.C., Colchester United's 79th season in their history and their eighth consecutive season in Football League One, League One, the third tier of Football in England, English football. Along with competing in League One, the club will also participate in the FA Cup, Football League Cup, League Cup and Football League Trophy. The club suffered relegation to Football League Two, League Two, the fourth tier of English football, for the first time in 18-years after finishing the season in 23rd position and in the relegation zone. Colchester ( ) is a city in Essex, in the East of England. It had a population of 122,000 in 2011. The demonym is Colcestrian. Colchester occupies the site of Camulodunum, the first major city in Roman Britain and its first capital. Colchester therefore claims to be Britain's first city. George Moncur
George Anthony Moncur (born 18 August 1993) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Leyton Orient. The son of former West Ham United midfielder John, Moncur came through the West Ham United Academy after a spell with Tottenham Hotspur as a schoolboy. He made his professional debut in January 2012 when he joined League Two club AFC Wimbledon on loan. He made the first of his two appearances for the West Ham first team in August 2012 in the League Cup, with his second arriving in January 2014. Jack John Charles Richard Curtis (born 11 September 1995) is an English footballer who plays as a midfielder for Grays Athletic. Curtis progressed through the youth ranks at Tottenham Hotspur and had a brief stint with Maldon Town prior to joining Colchester United's Academy in 2011. After four years with the side, he made his professional debut in the FA Cup in November 2015. He had a loan spell with Needham Market in 2016, before leaving Colchester in January 2017. Walsall (, or ; locally ) is a market town and administrative centre in the West Midlands County, England. Historically part of Staffordshire, it is located north-west of Birmingham, east of Wolverhampton and from Lichfield. Dominic Rooney Smith (born 22 September 1995) is an English footballer who plays as a forward for Northern Premier League North Division side Droylsden. He began his career with Crewe Alexandra, where he progressed through the club's Academy, but failed to make a first team appearance. Sean David Clohessy (born 12 December 1986) is an English former footballer who played as a defender. Having risen through the Arsenal Academy, he continued his development with Gillingham, where he made his professional debut. He had a successful loan spell with Salisbury City during the 2008–09 season, and joined the club on a permanent basis the following season.
