2015 Women's Six Nations Championship
The 2015 Women's Six Nations Championship, also known as the 2015 RBS Women's Six Nations due to the tournament's sponsorship by the Royal Bank of Scotland, was the 14th series of the Women's Six Nations Championship, an annual women's rugby union competition between six European rugby union national teams. Matches were held in February and March 2015, on the same weekends as the men's tournament, if not always the same day. The championship was contested by England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales. Ireland won the championship on a points difference tie-break from France, after both teams had won four of their five matches; it was Ireland's second title in three seasons. Ireland had to win their final game, against Scotland, by a margin of 27 points or more to win the title and achieved this with victory by 73 points to 3. Jenny Murphy (born May 30, 1989) is a female rugby union player for . She was a member of the Ireland's 2014 Women's Rugby World Cup squad. She also played at the 2013 Rugby World Cup Sevens in Moscow, Russia. As a child Murphy played Gaelic football and soccer. She played with Ballymore Eustace GAA during her crucial player development years but in 2001 signed a controversial transfer to Kilcullen GAA. Despite this she is still regarded as a local treasure of Ballymore and notably in their top five best athletes. At the start of the 2018/19 season, Murphy started coaching the inaugural Naas RFC Women's team alongside Leinster and Ireland U20's player Adam Coyle. Michela Sillari (born 23 February 1993) is an Italian rugby union player. She plays Centre for Italy internationally and for Valsugana Rugby Padova at club level. She has competed in two Rugby World Cup's, in 2017 and in the delayed 2021 tournament. Rugby career Sillari started playing rugby at the age of seven, she first played for Amatori Parma's youth team and then moved on to play for the Rugby Noceto Football Club, and then for Lupe Piacenza. Sofia Stefan (born 12 May 1992) is an Italian rugby union player. She plays utility back at Valsugana. She plays in the positions of three quarters wing or sometimes centre for the Italy women's national rugby union team. She has 73 caps. Manuela Furlan (born 30 June 1988) is a former Italian rugby union player. She captained Italy and was a member of their squad for the 2021 Rugby World Cup. She retired from international rugby at the end of 2022. Rugby career Furlan made her international debut for Italy in 2009. Sara Cox (rugby Union Referee)
Sara Cox (born 1990/91) is an English rugby union referee and former rugby union footballer. In 2016, she became the world's first professional female rugby union referee, and in 2018 she became the first female to referee a Premiership Rugby Cup match. On 25 September 2021, she became the first woman to referee a Premiership Rugby Union Match when she took centre field for a fixture between Harlequins and Worcester Warriors at the Stoop. Career As a player, Cox played rugby for Exeter, Saracens, Cullompton and Plymouth Albion, and had trials for England U-21. Aged 17, she decided to retire from playing the sport after an injury, and took up refereeing instead, initially part time, whilst also working for a waste management company.
