2015 Women's League1 Ontario Season
The 2015 Women's League1 Ontario season was the first season of play for the Women's Division of League1 Ontario. Originally announced with six teams, a seventh (Woodbridge Strikers) was added before the start of the season. A league cup consisted of two groups of either three or four teams, with the top two from each group advancing to the knockout round. Teams Source: Standings Each team will play 18 matches as part of the season; three games split home and away against every other team in the division. There are no playoffs; the first-place team will be crowned as league champion at the end of the season. Cup The cup tournament is a separate contest from the rest of the season, in which all seven teams from the women's division take part. League1 Ontario (women)
League1 Ontario (L1O) is a semi-professional women's soccer league in Ontario, Canada. The league is sanctioned by the Canadian Soccer Association and the Ontario Soccer Association as a pro-am league in the Canadian soccer league system. The L1O women's division part of League1 Canada, the national third tier with regional divisions, with L1O equivalent to the Première ligue de soccer du Québec and League1 British Columbia. The women's division launched in 2015 with seven clubs and has grown to twenty clubs for the 2022 season. Beginning in 2024, the league will become a three-tier league featuring promotion and relegation. Maple is a neighbourhood in Vaughan, York Region, Ontario, Canada. It is located northwest of Toronto. Vaughan () (2021 population 323,103) is a city in Ontario, Canada. It is located in the Regional Municipality of York, just north of Toronto. Penalty Shoot-out (association Football)
A penalty shoot-out (officially kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method in association football to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as extra time (if used) have expired. In a penalty shoot-out, each team takes turns shooting at goal from the penalty mark, with the goal defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. Each team has five shots which must be taken by different kickers; the team that makes more successful kicks is declared the victor. Shoot-outs finish as soon as one team has an insurmountable lead. If scores are level after five pairs of shots, the shootout progresses into additional " sudden-death" rounds. Balls successfully kicked into the goal during a shoot-out do not count as goals for the individual kickers or the team, and are tallied separately from the goals scored during normal play (including extra time, if any). The Football Association Challenge Cup, more commonly known as the FA Cup, is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic English football. First played during the 1871–72 season, it is the oldest national football competition in the world. It is organised by and named after The Football Association (The FA).
