2015 Virginia Cavaliers Football Team
The 2015 Virginia Cavaliers football team represented the University of Virginia in the 2015 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Cavaliers were led by sixth year head coach Mike London and played their home games at Scott Stadium. They were members of the Coastal Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference. They finished the season 4–8, 3–5 in ACC play to finish in sixth place in the Coastal Division. On November 29, head coach Mike London resigned. He finished at Virginia with a six year record of 27–46. Last season The 2014 Cavaliers finished with a record of 5–7, 3–5 in ACC play to finish in a three way tie for fifth place in the Coastal Division. Mike London
Michael Wilson London Sr. (born October 9, 1960) is the current head football coach for the William & Mary Tribe football program at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. He is a former defensive back and associate head coach and defensive line coach for the University of Maryland, College Park. Prior to Maryland, London was the head coach of the Virginia Cavaliers football program of the University of Virginia. Prior to William & Mary, London was head coach of the Howard Bison football program at Howard University in Washington, D.C. A native of the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, London played college and pro football as a defensive back for the Richmond Spiders and Dallas Cowboys. Tom O'Brien (American Football)
Thomas P. O'Brien (born October 5, 1948) is a former American football coach and player. He served as the head football coach at Boston College from 1997 to 2006 and North Carolina State University from 2007 to 2012, compiling a career college football coach record of 115 wins and 80 losses. Early career O'Brien earned an appointment to the United States Naval Academy, where he was a three-year starter at defensive end for the Midshipmen from 1968 to 1970. After graduating from the Naval Academy in 1971 with a bachelor of science degree in management, O'Brien served nine years in the Marines. A return specialist or kick returner is a player on the special teams unit of a gridiron football team who specializes in returning punts and kickoffs. Juan Thornhill (born October 19, 1995) is an American football safety for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Virginia. Early years Thornhill attended Altavista High School in Altavista, Virginia. He played safety and quarterback in high school. He committed to the University of Virginia to play college football. Thornhill also played basketball in high school. College career Thornhill played at Virginia from 2015 to 2018. Quin Blanding
Quin Blanding (born May 1, 1996) is an American football safety who is a free agent. He played college football at Virginia. He signed with the Washington Redskins as an undrafted free agent in 2018. Early years Blanding attended Bayside High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In high school, he played quarterback, tight end, wide receiver, and safety. He was rated by Rivals.com and Scout.com as a five-star recruit. Rivals had him ranked as the best safety and fifth best player overall. Timothy Harris Jr. (born July 31, 1995) is an American football cornerback for the St. Louis BattleHawks of the XFL. He played college football at Virginia Cavaliers football, Virginia. Christopher Aziz Peace (born February 8, 1996) is an American football former coach and outside linebacker who is currently a graduate assistant for the Virginia Cavaliers.
