UEC European Champion Jersey
The UEC European Champion jersey is the distinctive, identifiable jersey that the winner of a bicycle race receives at European Cycling Championships organized by the European Cycling Union (UEC), such as the European Road Championships and the European Track Championships. The jersey is predominantly blue with gold European stars. The jerseys are awarded in all cycling disciplines, including road cycling, track cycling, cyclo-cross, BMX, mountain biking and indoor cycling. The jerseys are provided by Santini SMS. From 2016, its design consist of a three-part blue banner behind three yellow stars. Katy Marchant
Katy Marchant, (born 30 January 1993) is an elite British track cyclist who specialises in the sprint disciplines. She was educated at Brigshaw High School. Career Originally from Leeds, Marchant was based in Manchester after her switch to cycling in April 2013. Marchant began her sporting life as a heptathlete, and represented Great Britain in that event at the 2012 World Junior Championships. The switchover was instigated by her former coach, Toni Minichiello (best known for coaching Jessica Ennis), who suggested the move to cycling having seen the results of her power output on a Wattbike test. Marchant had cycled for leisure on a mountain bike and on the road, but had no experience of track cycling. After a 6-week trial period, she permanently switched to track cycling. She became a member of British Cycling's Olympic Academy in April 2013, and graduated to the Olympic Development Programme in November 2013. Sara Ferrara (born 24 July 1995) is a track cyclist from Finland. She was born in Monterrey, Mexico to a Mexican father and a Finnish mother. Sara Ferrara began her cycling career representing Mexico as a Junior. She won three gold medals, in the Omnium, Individual Pursuit, and Team Pursuit at the 2012 junior Panamerican championships in Guatemala. Simona Krupeckaitė (born 13 December 1982) is a Lithuanian former professional track cyclist. She is the 2009 500 m Time Trial World Champion and World Record holder at 33.296s, and the 2010 Keirin World Champion. She also won the 2009, 2010 and 2016 Lithuanian Sportsperson of the Year award. In 2010 Krupeckaitė reached one more world record. This time she achieved 10.793 s record at Flying 200 m time trial event.
