UCI Women's Road Rankings
The UCI Women's Road Rankings is a system of ranking road bicycle racers based upon the results in all women's UCI-sanctioned races over a twelve-month period. The world rankings were first instituted by the UCI in 1994. Points are awarded according to finishing positions in each race, with lesser points for each stage of stage races and for wearing the race leader's jersey. Evelyn Stevens (cyclist)
Evelyn Lee Stevens (born May 9, 1983) is an American retired professional road cyclist. Early life Stevens was born in Claremont, California but grew up in Acton, Massachusetts, where she attended Acton-Boxborough Regional High School. She studied government and women and gender studies at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire and was a member of the college's tennis team. After graduating in 2005 she moved to New York City where she worked for Lehman Brothers for two years, then for mezzanine fund Gleacher Mezzanine before quitting in July 2009 to take up cycling full-time. Career She competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the women's road race, finishing 24th. In July 2014, Stevens competed at the Giro d'Italia and Thüringen Rundfahrt over 17 consecutive days of racing, finishing 14th and 1st respectively. Beatrix "Trixi" Worrack (born 28 September 1981) is a German former professional road racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2000 and 2021. The winner of the 2003 German National Road Race Championships, Worrack's career highlights included winning the 2005 Primavera Rosa (the women's Milan–San Remo), capturing the overall title at the 2004 Tour de l'Aude Cycliste Féminin and competing in the women's road race at five Summer Olympic Games between 2004 and 2020. Giorgia Bronzini (born 3 August 1983) is an Italian former professional racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2003 and 2017. She won the women's road race in the UCI Road World Championships in both 2010 and 2011 and the women's points race in the UCI Track Cycling World Championships in 2009. Born in Piacenza, Bronzini took a total of 80 victories on the road and the track, including stages of the Giro d'Italia Femminile, La Route de France, the Tour of Qatar, the Tour of California, and the Tour of Chongming Island. After a 16-year career, in August 2018 Bronzini announced that she would retire at the end of the season and become a ''directeur sportif'' with Trek Bicycle Corporation's new women's team, in 2019. Christine Majerus (born 25 February 1987) is a Luxembourgish professional road bicycle racing, road and cyclo-cross cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's Team, UCI Women's WorldTeam . Shelley Olds (born September 30, 1980) is an American former professional bicycle racing, racing cyclist. Career Olds was born and raised in Groton, Massachusetts. She studied health and human performance at Roanoke College in Virginia, and was captain of their women's soccer team. A star on the soccer pitch, Olds was a two-time NSCAA All-South Region selection, four-time All-ODAC selection and the 2002 ODAC Player of the Year. She was inducted into the Roanoke Athletic Hall of Fame in 2016. After college, she moved to California and was introduced to cycling by Rob Evans, whom she later married. Amy Pieters (born 1 June 1991) is a Dutch professional road and track cyclist, who is contracted to ride for UCI Women's WorldTeam . She was a member of the Dutch team that finished sixth at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the team pursuit (together with Ellen van Dijk, Kirsten Wild and Vera Koedooder). On 23 December 2021, Pieters was placed in an induced coma and underwent emergency surgery to relieve pressure on her brain caused by a fall that day during a training ride near Alicante with the Dutch national track team.
